Limiting heights shall be referenced from 2014IBC approved SSMAcharts for nonstructural cold —formed steel <br />framing wall systems for each of the following assemblies as included in the project scope: <br />Interior Wall Heights — Composite: composite limiting heights are based on a single layer of 5/8" type—X <br />gypsum board installed to both sides of the wall over full height using minimum No. 6 type S—drywall screws <br />spaced a maximum of 12" O.C. for studs at 24" O.C. (maximum spacing), and 16" O.C. for studs at 16" and <br />12" spacing where required. Increase metal stud gouge and/or decrease metal stud O.C. spacing so as not <br />to exceed 1/240 design criteria with 5 PSF lateral load. Refer to SSMA "table notes" for complete property <br />criteria. <br />Interior Wall Limiting Heights Non —composite — Fully Braced; limiting heights are based on steel properties <br />only (non —composite) without the contribution of sheathing to strength and stiffness of the assembly. <br />Properly fastened sheathing is still required for members to be considered fully braced. Refer to SSMA "table <br />notes" for complete property criteria. <br />Interior Wall Limiting Heights — Braced at 48" O.C.: limiting heights are based on studs braced at maximum <br />spacing of 48" O.C. Bracing can be placed at a greater distance if deflection controls (d), maximum brace <br />spacing is listed under "Lbr" column of the chart. Refer to SSMA "Table Notes" for complete property <br />criteria. <br />C. Brace metal studs to structure as required by applicable building codes and the A.H.J. <br />D.
