An area increase of 300% is allowable for a fully sprinklered facility. 9500 <br />+(300%X 9500=28500SF)=38,000SF. Additional area increases are not <br />necessary. <br />Each building area is separated by 2 Hour Fire walls to maintain a maximum of <br />38,000 SF <br />2 Hour Fire /Smoke (minimum) walls are used where these divisions also <br />correspond to the required smoke compartment arrangement each to be a <br />maximum of 22,500 SF. <br />The 2 hour fire / smoke wall between the new skilled nursing unit and existing <br />units is a 2 hour fire/smoke wall used as a smoke compartment wall and a Fire <br />Section separation wall.
