All doors from the habitable area to the <br />garage shall be a minimum thickness no less than <br />1 3/8" and be either solid wood or honeycomb steel <br />door with a 20-minute fire -rating. <br />All exterior masonry and / or frame perimeter walls <br />are to be considered shearwall segments, except at <br />door / window openings and wall lengths less than <br />2'- 8" in length. <br />First floor garage walls use 8" exterior concrete <br />block. <br />Second floor garage apartment "exterior walls" use <br />2 x 4 studs @ 16" o.c. and finish with 1/2" drywall <br />over min.
