<br />NOT IT IS EXACTLY AS SPECIFIED) FOR REVIEW. WHERE MANUFACTURERS ARE
<br />LISTED IN THE PROJECT MANUAL, ONE OF THOSE MANUFACTURERS SHALL BE
<br />PROVIDED UNLESS A REQUEST FOR SUBSTITUTION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED PRIOR
<br />TO BID AND THE MANUFACTURER SUBSEQUENTLY IS LISTED AS AN ACCEPTABLE

<br />7. DUCTWORK, AIR DEVICES AND OTHER ITEMS OF THE AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
<br />SHALL BE SUPPORTED DIRECTLY FROM THE BUILDING STRUCTURE AND NOT FROM
<br />THE CEILING OR CEILING SUSPENSION SYSTEM. COORDINATE LOCATION OF AIR
<br />DEVICES, WALLCAPS, ROOFCAPS AND LOUVERS WITH ELECTRICAL, ARCHITECTURAL,
<br />AND PLUMBING WORK. AIR DEVICES SHALL BE SUPPORTED FROM THE BUILDING
<br />STRUCTURE FROM AT LEAST TWO POINTS.
<br />8. ALL DUCTWORK SHALL BE FABRICATED AND INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
<br />LATEST EDITION OF "SMACNA" DUCT CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS AND COMPLY
<br />WITH THE LATEST "NFPA" 90A REQUIREMENTS. ALL DUCTWORK SHALL BE LEAK
<br />TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SMACNA AND ASHRAE STANDARDS, AND BE

<br />AND BALANCE AGENCY IN IDENTIFYING ALL DAMPERS. IN AREAS WHERE THE
<br />FINAL DAMPER INSTALLATION PROHIBITS ACCESS FOR TEST AND BALANCE,
<br />PROVIDE MANUAL REMOTE CABLE CONTROLS EQUAL TO YOUNG REGULATOR

<br />14. ALL PIPING AND/OR DUCTWORK MUST BE INSTALLED 6" AWAY FROM ANY FIRE

<br />15. FLEXIBLE DUCTS SHALL BE FACTORY INSULATED WITH 3/4" THICK GLASS FIBER

<br />16. SMOKE AND HIGH TEMPERATURE PROTECTION OF MECHANICAL AIR DISTRIBUTION
<br />SYSTEMS.
<br />A. DUCT MOUNTED SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE FURNISHED AND WIRED UNDER
<br />DIVISION 16 (ELECTRICAL) AT LOCATIONS INDICATED ON THE PLANS AND AS
<br />HEREIN SPECIFIED. DUCT DETECTORS SHALL COMPLY WITH UL 268A.
<br />B. MECHANICAL PLANS INDICATE THE APPROXIMATE LOCATION OF DUCT DETECTORS.
<br />ASSIST THE SMOKE DETECTOR INSTALLER IN LOCATING AND INSTALLING THE
<br />DETECTORS IN ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER'S INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
<br />WHEN RECOMMENDED CLEARANCES CAN NOT BE MAINTAINED, SIMULATE A SMOKE
<br />AIR FLOW TEST OF EACH DEVICE AND PROVIDE A COPY OF THE FIELD TEST TO

<br />17. PROVIDE P-TRAPS AS PER DETAIL AT ALL CONDENSATE DRAIN LINE
<br />CONNECTIONS. SLOPE DRAIN LINES TOWARD THE POINT OF DISCHARGE (MIN
<br />1/8"/FOOT). INSULATE CONDENSATE DRAIN LINES LOCATED WITHIN THE BUILDING

<br />FILTER(S), RETURN AIR PLENUM OR MIXING BOXES. THOSE LOSES SHALL BE
<br />PART OF THE EQUIPMENT INTERNAL LOSSES SAME AS THOSE CAUSED BY COILS,
<br />CABINET, ETC.
<br />20. PROVIDE REINFORCED 4" THICK CONCRETE PAD UNDER CONDENSING UNITS. PAD
<br />SHALL BE SIZED TO ACCOMMODATE THE REQUIRED SERVICE CLEARANCES AND/OR
<br />EXTEND A MINIMUM OF ONE FOOT (1'-0") PAST UNIT IN ALL DIRECTIONS AND
<br />PLACE THE CONDENSING UNIT BASE A MINIMUM OF 4" ABOVE ADJOINING GRADE.
<br />PROVIDE 1" NEOPRENE PADS UNDER CONDENSING UNIT. SECURE CONDENSING
<br />UNIT(S) TO PAD USING ONE INCH WIDE 16 GAGE STAINLESS STEEL STRAPS AND
<br />STAINLESS STEEL SCREWS, AT A MAXIMUM 18 INCHES ON CENTER, ON ALL SIDES
<br />OF THE UNIT.
<br />21. ROOF MOUNTED EQUIPMENT SHALL BE SECURED TO THE CURB USING ONE INCH,
<br />16 GAGE STAINLESS STEEL STRAPS AND STAINLESS STEEL SCREWS. THE CURBS
<br />SHALL BE SECURED TO THE STRUCTURE AS DETAILED BY THE ARCHITECT OR
<br />STRUCTURAL ENGINEER.
<br />22. PROVIDE PAINTED GALVANIZED EXPANDED METAL GRILLE OVER ALL CONDENSER
<br />COILS.
<br />23. ALL EQUIPMENT (FANS, AIR HANDLERS, CONDENSING UNITS, ETC.) SHALL BE
<br />LABELED WITH PLASTIC SIGNS, LAMINATED, ENGRAVED: 1 /8" THICK BLANKS FOR
<br />SIGNS SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 1 3/4" HIGH, WITH 1" HIGH LETTERS. LENGTH OF

<br />SIGNS DESIGNATED FOR INSTALLATION ON THE OUTSIDE, IN OPEN AREAS, OR

<br />24. ALL WALL MOUNTED TEMPERATURE SENSORS SHALL BE INSTALLED AT A CENTER
<br />LINE ELEVATION OF 4'-0" ABOVE FINISHED FLOOR UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ON
<br />DRAWINGS. LOCATION OF THE WALL MOUNTED THERMOSTAT SHALL BE
<br />COORDINATED WITH THE OTHER TRADES FOR A NEAT APPEARANCE. FINAL
<br />LOCATION OF THERMOSTAT SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE

<br />RECOMMENDATIONS. PROVIDE SIZING AND ACCESSORY DATA WITH THE
<br />EQUIPMENT PACKAGE SUBMITTAL. PIPING IS TO BE FILLED WITH DRY NITROGEN
<br />WHILE SOLDERING. TEST, CLEAN, AND DEHYDRATE PIPES AND PROVIDE CHARGE
<br />OF REFRIGERANT AS PER EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATION.
<br />PROVIDE ALL NECESSARY VALVES, TRAPS, FILTER/DRYERS, SIGHT GLASS, ETC.
<br />AS REQUIRED FOR A COMPLETE AND READY TO OPERATE INSTALLATION.
<br />INCLUDE ACCESSIBLE SERVICE FITTINGS.
<br />28. ALL REFRIGERANT PIPING SHALL BE INSULATED WITH 3/4" THICK SEAMLESS
<br />CLOSED CELL RUBBER PIPE INSULATION. INSULATION EXPOSED TO THE OUTSIDE
<br />ENVIRONMENT SHALL BE PAINTED WITH TWO COATS OF UV -RESISTANT WHITE
<br />ARMAFLEX PAINT.
<br />29. EQUIPMENT SERVICE ACCESS
<br />PROVIDE ADEQUATE SERVICE SPACE AROUND AIR HANDLING UNITS, ELECTRIC
<br />HEATERS AND THE PULL SIDE OF FILTERS.
<br />SERVICE AREA SHALL BE CLEAR OF DUCTS, PIPES, CONDUITS, WALL STUDS,
<br />CEILING HANGERS, AND ANY OTHER CONSTRUCTION APPURTENANCE.
<br />30. PROVIDE A 26 GA GALVANIZED SHEET METAL PLATE TO COVER PIPING ON WALL.
<br />PAINT TO MATCH WALL COLOR AND AS DIRECTED BY THE ARCHITECT.
<br />31. ROOFING WORK IN THESE BUILDINGS SHALL MATCH EXISTING AND WORK SHALL
<br />BE PERFORMED BY AN AUTHORIZED ROOFING CONTRACTOR. ON BONDED ROOFS,
<br />ALL ROOFING WORK REQUIRED FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE NEW UNITS SHALL
<br />BE RECERTIFIED BY COMPANY HOLDING THE BOND ON THE ROOF. THE ROOFING
<br />CONTRACTOR TO REVIEW THE OWNER(S) AND BONDING COMPANY(S) POLICIES,
<br />ROOF BONDING (WHEN APPLICABLE) ETC. BEFORE ANY ROOFING WORK IS
<br />COMPLETED, REMOVE ALL EXISTING ROOF EQUIPMENT SUPPORTS DOWN TO THE
<br />STRUCTURE THAT WILL NOT BE USED ON THE NEW INSTALLATION.
<br />32. ALL AIR HANDLING UNITS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH A MINIMUM 24 GAGE
<br />GALVANIZED STEEL SECONDARY DRAIN PAN. PAN SHALL BE THREE INCHES DEEP
<br />AND EXTEND A MINIMUM OF FOUR INCHES PAST THE AIR HANDLER IN ALL
<br />DIRECTIONS. THE PAN SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH A FLOAT SWITCH WIRED TO
<br />SHUT DOWN THE SYSTEM WHEN WATER IS DETECTED. ALL COMPONENTS OF THE
<br />AIR HANDLER AND PIPING SUBJECT TO CONDENSATION SHALL BE PROTECTED BY
<br />THE PAN.
<br />33. PROVIDE A MANUAL AND A MOTORIZED DAMPER IN ALL OUTDOOR AIR INTAKE
<br />DUCTS. MOTORIZED DAMPER SHALL BE WIRED TO OPEN AFTER A ONE HOUR
<br />DELAY (ADJUSTABLE) WHEN AIR HANDLER IS ENERGIZED AND TO CLOSE
<br />WHENEVER AIR HANDLER IS DE -ENERGIZED, OR AS DETAILED IN THE CONTROLS
<br />DRAWINGS AND SEQUENCES. ALL EXHAUST AIR FANS SHALL BE INTERLOCKED
<br />WITH THE MOTORIZED DAMPER SUCH THAT THE FANS OPERATION IS PROHIBITED
<br />IF THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER IS CLOSED. REFER TO CONTROL SECTIONS FOR
<br />FURTHER REQUIREMENTS AND SCHEDULING. THE MANUAL DAMPER IN THE
<br />OUTSIDE AIR INTAKE DUCT SHALL BE USED FOR BALANCING THE OUTDOOR AIR
<br />FLOW.
<br />34. ACCESS PANELS THAT MAY BE REQUIRED FOR INSPECTION OF DUCTWORK, PIPING,
<br />DUCT MOUNTED DEVICES OR PIPE MOUNTED DEVICES SHALL BE PROVIDED.
<br />REFER TO THE ARCHITECTURAL CONTRACT DOCUMENTS FOR DOOR
<br />SPECIFICATIONS.
<br />35. ALL NEW DUCTWORK SHALL NOT BE STORED IN UNCLEAN AREAS. PROTECT ALL
<br />DUCTWORK FROM DUST AND DEBRIS WHILE IT IS STORED ON SITE. WHILE UNDER
<br />CONSTRUCTION, ALL INSTALLED DUCTWORK SHALL BE TEMPORARILY SEALED WITH
<br />VISQUEEN PRIOR TO TEST AND BALANCE IN ORDER TO LIMIT ACCUMULATION OF
