Use internal vibrators to consolidate all concrete. <br />8. Concrete curing options <br />a. Liquid membrane forming chemical compound conforming to ASTM C309. <br />b. Continuous moisture in accordance with ACI 301. <br />9. Concrete shall be finished per architectural drawings. <br />10. A testing laboratory shall perform the following concrete tests for each 50 cubic <br />yards. Send test results to the owner, architects, structural engineer and General <br />Contractor. <br />a. Slump test - ASTM C143 <br />b. Four Cylinder strength test - ASTM C39: test one cylinder after 7 days, test two <br />after 28 days and hold one in reserve. <br />11. All beams shall be poured monolithically. <br />12. Exposed edges of columns and beams shall be chamfered 0 in. unless noted <br />otherwise on architectural drawings. <br />ALL SLABWORK SHALL PROVIDE MIN ACI CONTROL AND EXPANSION JOINTS LOCATIONS (IN ADDITION TO DESIGN <br />INTENT PROVIDED). Grade 'N' type II hollow load bearing masonry units which conform to ASTM C <br />90. <br />a. Net Compressive Strength Test of units = 2,000 psi. <br />b. fm =1,350 psi. coatings and in walls not exposed to weather. <br />2. Size:16" long x 8" high nominal:15-5/8" long x 7-5/8" high actual. <br />3. Type I, moisture- controlled unit. Hollow load bearing block, ASTM C90. <br />B. Mortar and Grout. <br />1. Fill all cells containing reinforcing with course grout. <br />3. All work shall conform to ACI 530-88. <br />4. Water: Clean and potable. <br />5. Joints: Floated smooth and even. <br />6. Reinforcements: <br />a. Reinforcing bars shall be lapped 48 diameters where spliced. <br />b. All vertical bars shall be held in position at the top and bottom and with a <br />minimum clearance of 1/4" to the masonry walls and one diameter between bars. <br />c. Horizontal reinforcing shall conform to ASTM A 82. <br />d. Horizontal reinforcing shall be 9 ga. (u.o.n.) ladder type Dur-o-wall or equal <br />at 16" o.c. and shall be lapped a minimum of 6" at each splice. <br />C. Placement: <br />1. Level 3: Specified in appearance areas that are to receive heavy or medium <br />texture (spray or hand applied) finishes before final painting, or where heavy <br />grade wall coverings are to be applied. <br />d.
