Both
methods determine a connector's allowable load as the lowest of thefollowing;
1. Lowest ultimate of three tests (or average of 6) with a safety factor of 3
2. Average load at 1/8-inch deflection
3. Calculations per American Wood Council National Design Specification for Wood Construction (NDS)
The primary changes in ASTM D7147 are requirements to measure properties of the tested materials, such as steel
strength, fastener strength, and wood specific gravity. The tested ultimate loads must be adjusted when tested
material properties exceed the specified properties.
ICC, Evaluation Services (ICC-ES) revised AC13 Acceptance Criteria for Joist Hangers and Sirrlar Devices in
October 2016 to incorporate a methodology to evaluate products to the 2015 I -Codes, Simpson Strong -Tie is working
on re-evaluating wood construction connector loads to the new standard to update our product evaluation reports to
the 2015 I -Codes. As soon as the updated evaluation reports are completed, we will apply for Florida Product
Approvals,
However, reevaluating a large number of products will take time. While manufacturers work with product certification
agencies to update their wood connector evaluation reports, we recommend that budding departments under the
2015 1-Codes and 2017 Florida Codes continue to accept code reports shoving compliance to the 2012 and 2014
editions; respectively, until July 2018.
The information in this letter is valid until 613=018 when it will be re-evaluated by Simpson Strong -Tie. Please visit
www,stronotie.com for additional pertinent information. If you have questions or need further assistance regarding
this matter, please contact the Simpson Strong -Tie Engineering Department at 800.999 5099.
Sincerely,
SIMPSON STRONG -TIE COMPANY INC.
Keith Cullum, P.E„ LEED AP dwfBDW
Engineer, Southeast U.S: Branch
Page 1 of I
Simpson Strong -Tie Company Inc. 2221 Country Lane McKinney, TX 75069 Phone: 972 542.0326 Fax 972.542.4139 wirsro stronatie.com
CU
C a) U
Q O O
C6 -
' U C E
 0 U
0 O
O  = O
= 0 U_
CU O C- 4- >
Q
'- E 0
L
1 ( O-
z
O
O
r
V
0
U
0
O
V/
co
La
ca
Z W
Z
Z
Q
J
a.
SHEET NO.
PA 1,0
A3
FL17244.1
z
ESR-3455
A23
FL1044fi.2
ESR-2808
HD210-2
FL17232.3
ESR-3445
HU210-2
FL10856.4
ESR-2549
HD212-2
FL17232.3
ESR-3445
HU212-2
FL10858.4
ESR-2549
HD216
FL17232.3
ESR-3445
HU218
FL10856.5
ESR-2549
HD216-3
FL17232.3
ESR-3445
HU216-3
FL10858.1
ESR-2549
HD26
FL17232.2
ESR-3445
HU28
FL10856.3
ESR-2543
HD28-2
FL17232.3
ESR-3445
HU28-2
FL10856.4
ESR-2549
HD410
fL17232.4
ESR-3445
HU410
FL10856.9
ESR-2549
HD412
FL17232.4
ESR-3445
HU412
FL10858.9
ESR-2549
HD610
FL17232.4
ESR-3445
HU610
FL10858.10
ESR-2549
HD0410
FL17241.7
ESR-3444
HUC0410
FL11468.11
SIM200804
HGA10
FL17699.1
Evacuation Report
HGA10KT
FL11470.4
SIM200803
HGAM10
FL17699.1
Evaluation Report
HGAM10KT
FL11470.4
SIM200803
HHCP2
FL17238.7
ESR-3448
HCP2
FL10447.2
ESR-2551
HTA18
FL17680.4
Evaluation Report
HETA16
FL11473.5
SIM200802
HTA20-18
FL17660.4
Evaluation Report
HETA20
FL11473.5
SIM200802
HTT18
FL17324.2
Evaluation Report
HTT16
FL11496.1
ES-0130
HTT45
FL17324.2
Evaluation Report
HTT22
FL11498.1
ES-0130
HTW18
FL17244.8
ESR-3455
HTS18
FLt0456.22
ESR-2613
HTW20
FL17244.8
ESR-3455
HTS20
FL10456.23
ESR-2613
HTW24
FL17244.8
ESR•3455
HTS24
FL10456.24
ESR-2613
HTW30
FL17244.8
ESR-3455
HTS30
FL10456.26
ESR-2613
HTWM16
FL6223.2
Evaluation Report
HTSM16
FL11473.11
SIM200802
HTWM20
FL8223.2
Evaluation Report
HTSM20
FL11473.11
SIM200802
HUGT2
FL8223.3
Evaluation Report
HGT2
FL10456.18
ESR-2613
HUGT3
FL6223.3
Evaluation Repo
PRODUCT APPROVAL SPECIFICATION SHEET (2018) January 9, 2019
the information and approval numbers on the building components listed below Kf the will be utilized on the
As required by Florida Statute 553.842 and Florida Administrative Code 9B•72, please provide g y
construction project for which you are applying for a building permit.
