HVAC GENERAL NOTES <br />AHU OPERATION DURING CONSTRUCTION <br />DRAWING INDEX <br />1. HVAC DRAWINGS ARE DIAGRAMMATICAL IN NATURE AND REPRESENT <br />EXISTING CONDITIONS BASED ON DRAWINGS AND SITE OBSERVATIONS. <br />CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FIELD VERIFICATION OF ALL ACTUAL <br />CONDITIONS INCLUDING, DUCTWORK AND PIPING LOCATIONS AND SIZES. <br />2. DUE TO DRAWINGS BEING DIAGRAMMATICAL IN NATURE RISERS AND <br />DROPS ARE NOT SHOWN - CONTRACTOR SHALL INCLUDE THESE IN THE <br />BID - WHERE POSSIBLE ALL RISERS AND DROPS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED <br />USING 45 DEGREE OR LONG RADIUS ELBOWS. <br />3. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO PERFORM ALL WORK <br />NECESSARY TO PREPARE THE STRUCTURE FOR THE INSTALLATION <br />AND/OR DEMOLITION WORK OF THE MECHANICAL SYSTEMS. ALL HOLES, <br />OPENINGS AND ANY DAMAGED MATERIALS OR SURFACES SHALL BE <br />REPAIRED AND FINISHED TO MATCH EXISTING. <br />14. ALL DEMOLITION WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH NFPA 241 AND THE <br />REQUIREMENTS OF THE OWNER. <br />15. PROVIDE TEMPORARY FILTERS ON ALL RETURN AIR GRILLES AND <br />TRANSFER OPENINGS IN THE WORK AREA. <br />16. EXISTING SYSTEMS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS ARE BASED ON <br />AVAILABLE RECORD DRAWINGS. THIS INFORMATION IS ONLY PARTIALLY <br />VERIFIED. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE TO FIELD VERIFY AND <br />INVESTIGATE ALL CONDITIONS THAT AFFECTS THE WORK PRIOR TO <br />SUBMITTING THE BID. <br />17• INSTALL AHU CONTROL PANELS TO PROVIDE FOR 3'-0' MIN. CLEARANCE IN <br />FRONT OF PANEL. <br />18. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ON PLANS, LOW RETURN AIR GRILLES AND <br />LOW EXHAUST GRILLES SHALL BE 6' TO 8' AFF TO BOTTOM OF GRILLE. <br />19. ALL DIFFUSERS IN SAME SPACE SHALL HAVE THE SAME FULL FACE SIZE <br />USING LARGEST SIZE REQUIRED FROM DIFFUSER AND GRILLE SCHEDULE. <br />20. PROVIDE CLEAR ACCESS TO FIRE DAMPERS, SMOKE DAMPERS, AND <br />VALVES. <br />21. PROVIDE MANUFACTURERS CERTIFIED DATA (NOA) OR CALCULATIONS ON <br />ALL EXTERIOR MOUNTED EQUIPMENT DURING SUBMITTAL PHASE, WHICH <br />INDICATES THAT THE EQUIPMENT CAN WITHSTAND A WIND LOAD <br />REQUIRED BY THE FSBC. <br />22. THE AIR HANDLING UNITS WILL BE ALLOWED TO OPERATE DURING THE FINISHING <br />STAGES OF THE GENERAL WORK PROVIDED THE PRE -FILTERS ARE IN PLACE AND <br />THE ENDS OF ALL RETURN AIR INLETS ARE COVERED WITH ROLL -UP FILTER MATERIAL. <br />4. WHEN THE SPACE IS TURNED OVER TO THE OWNER, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE <br />ALL FILTERS USED DURING CONSTRUCTION AND REPLACE THEM WITH NEW FILTERS. <br />5. USE OF NEW AHU'S DURING CONSTRUCTION IS NOT ALLOWED. <br />MECHANICAL AS-BUILTS NOTE <br />MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO SUMBIT MECHANICAL AS BUILT PLANS <br />UPON COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT.
