CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN FROM THE OWNER A COPY OF THE INFECTION CONTROL <br />RISK ASSESSMENT (ICRA) PREPARED FOR THIS PROJECT. CONTRACTOR SHALL <br />REVIEW THE REQUIREMENTS IN THE REPORT AND PERFORM ALL WORK IN ACCORDANCE <br />WITH THOSE REQUIREMENTS. CONTRACTOR SHALL STRICTLY ADHERE TO THE LIMITS <br />OF CONSTRUCTION AREA, AND WHERE PHASING APPLIES SHALL ADHERE TO <br />THE PHASING PLAN. ANY WORK OUTSIDE THE CONSTRUCTION AREA SHALL <br />BE COORDINATED WITH THE OWNER AND PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE <br />IRCA REPORT, UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE <br />OR OTHER DESIGNATED ICRA COMMITTEE OFFICER. <br />2. TO THE EXTENT THAT IT IS REQUIRED BY THE ICRA, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL <br />ENDEAVOR TO MAINTAIN EXISTING LEVELS OF INDOOR AIR QUALITY IN AREAS <br />SURROUNDING AND ADJACENT TO THE CONSTRUCTION WORK ZONE, <br />AND ELSEWHERE IN THE FACILITY. IT SHOULD BE ANTICIPATED THAT THE ICRA <br />REPORT WILL REQUIRE MEASURES TO THIS EFFECT INCLUDING ERECTION OF <br />CONSTRUCTION ZONE BARRIERS AND PROVISION OF NEGATIVE AIR PRESSURE IN <br />THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE RELATIVE TO OTHER AREAS OF THE NEW FACILITY. <br />3. IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ICRA REPORT, THE <br />CONTRACTOR AT A MINIMUM SHALL PROVIDE EQUIPMENT AND COMPONENTS <br />NECESSARY TO CREATE A NEGATIVE PRESSURE IN THE CONSTRUCTION WORK ZONE <br />RELATIVE TO ADJACENT AREA. EXISTING HVAC SYSTEMS AND COMPONENTS SHALL <br />NOT BE USED FOR THIS FUNCTION, UNLESS SPECIFICALLY APPROVED BY <br />THE OWNER'S INFECTION CONTROL OFFICER. THE CONCEPT AND ALL ASPECTS <br />OF THIS WORK SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ICRA REQUIREMENTS <br />AND AT A MINIMUM AS FOLLOWS: <br />A. VERIFY ALL EXISTING DUCTWORK WHICH PASSES THROUGH THE <br />CONSTRUCTION ZONE, AND IS TO REMAIN, IS SEALED AND PROTECTED <br />DURING THE CONSTRUCTION DURATION. <br />B. PRESENT THE NEGATIVE AIR PRESSURE PLAN TO THE OWNER FOR <br />APPROVAL BY THE INFECTION CONTROL COMMITTEE. <br />C. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE PORTABLE HEPA FILTRATION UNITS EQUIVALENT <br />TO ABATEMENT TECHNOLOGIES 'HEPA-AIRE PORTABLE AIR SCRUBBERS' OF APPROPRIATE <br />SIZE AND QUANTITY TO MAINTAIN THE NEGATIVE AIR PRESSURE AND AIR CHANGE RATES <br />IN THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE(S), AS REQUIRED BY THE OWNER'S ICRA. - <br />D. AIR REMOVED FROM THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE SHALL BE <br />FILTERED PRIOR TO BEING DISCHARGED, AS DIRECTED BY THE ICRA REPORT. <br />E. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE MEANS TO MONITOR AND VERIFY NEGATIVE <br />PRESSURE IS BEING MAINTAINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ICRA REPORT, AND <br />PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION TO THE OWNER. PROVIDE AND MONITOR NEGATIVE AIR <br />PRESSURE MEASUREMENT DEVICES AND PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION TO THE OWNER, <br />AT ALL ACCESS DOORS BETWEEN THE HOSPITAL PROPER AND THE CONSTRUCTION <br />AREA. <br />F. SUPPLY AND RETURN DUCTWORK SHALL NOT BE USED DURING <br />CONSTRUCTION PHASE - SEAL ALL DUCT OPENINGS AIR TIGHT. EXHAUST <br />DUCTS BEING USED FOR NEGATIVE PRESSURE SHALL HAVE SOME TYPE <br />OF DISPOSABLE FILTER MEDIA OVER ALL GRILLES AND/OR OPENINGS <br />(CHANGED MIN. ONCE PER DAY) WHILE SYSTEM IS OPERATING, AS DIRECTED <br />BY THE ICRA REPORT. <br />G. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A MINIMUM OF ONE (1) NEGATIVE PRESSURE <br />MACHINE, UNIT WILL RECIRCULATE WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE. THE HOUSE <br />EXHAUST SYSTEM SHALL PROVIDE THE CONSTRUCTION NEGATIVE PRESSURE, <br />AS DIRECTED BY THE ICRA REPORT. <br />H. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A MINIMUM OF ONE (1) NEGATIVE PRESSURE MACHINE, <br />VENTED TO EXTERIOR, FOR CONSTRUCTION VENTILATION. PROVIDE A MINIMUM OF TWO (2) <br />NEGATIVE PRESSURE MACHINES TO RECIRCULATE WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE. <br />THE HOUSE EXHAUST SYSTEM SHALL NOT BE USED FOR CONSTRUCTION VENTILATION. <br />I. TYPICAL FOR ALL INTERIOR SPACES REQUIRING TEMPORARY PARTITIONS AND <br />NEGATIVE PRESSURE MACHINES DURING THE ROUTING OF DIVISION 15 AND/OR <br />DIVISION 16 UTILITIES. THE NEGATIVE PRESSURE MACHINE WILL BE INSTALLED <br />INSIDE THE TEMPORARY ENCLOSURE WITH A DISCHARGE DUCT EXTENDING BACK <br />INTO THE SURROUNDING SPACES TO CREATE A NEGATIVE PRESSURE. <br />4. COORDINATE IN ADVANCE ANY REQUIRED EQUIPMENT SHUTDOWN WITH <br />THE OWNER, AND VERIFY BEFORE SHUTDOWN THAT EXISTING OR DESIRED AIR <br />PRESSURE RELATIONSHIPS WILL NOT BE ADVERSELY AFFECTED. <br />KEYED NOTES: - <br />CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE HEPA FILTERED NEGATIVE AIR <br />MACHINE DUCTED TO EXHAUST FAN. <br />O CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE HEPA FILTERED RECIRCULATING AIR <br />MACHINE WHERE INDICATED FOR DEMOLITION AND NEW CONSTRUCTION <br />OF ELECTRICAL CONDUIT AND MEDICAL GAS PIPING.
