.sECTION III - SCREW SPLINE (Continued)

Step C: Cut Horizontals to length (daylight opening) and apply sealant to the ends ensuring a good
seal to the Vertical member. (Glass stops should be D.L.O. + 0:' -1f1s").

.Step D: Assemble the units using two 28-856 (#12 x Wa" Pan Head Screws) at-each joint (See FIG. 3).
Be sure that each unit is fabricated with a male and female mullion half. NOTE: Every unit must have
at least one deep, vertical pocket.

NOTE: Verticals always run through, horizontals butt between.

28-856 (#12 x lYe" /::.-- I
PAN HEAD SCREW)
i
..~ I
..--- '11
Ii
:!

FIG. 3

....

APPLy SEALANT TO
ENDSDF ALL HORIZONTALS
BEFORE ASSEMBLING UNITS.

---
..

Step E: When an entrance is required, shear block joinery must be used to attach horizontals to the
immediate door frame, (See Section IV Shear Block). The other side of the sidelite will be
fabricated for screw spline joinery as usual.

.

INSTALLATION

STEP A: Install 450-037 flashing at the sill. It should be level, shimmed up a minimum of a %" and carefully
sealed at both ends (See FIG. 4). The flashing should run the full width of the opening -W' being
interrupted only at entrances. If opening is over 24' wide a splice joint is required every 12'
(See splice joint procedure on page 8).

DOORJAMB

FIG. 4

MASONRY

111i I
Iii

I

450-037
FLASHING

450-114
SHEET ALUMINUM
END DAM

SEALANT

SEALANT

.

NOTE: SEAL GLASS POCKET OF DOOR
JAMB AT SILL.

NOTE: SEAL OVER HEADS OF ALL PERIMETER
FASTENERS AT SILL.

NOTE: SEALANT ON BACK LEG OF FLASHING
TO BE APPLIED JUST PRIOR TO
INSTALLATION OF FRAME.
