<br />and continue to light a lamp at the annunciator identifying appropriate initiation device <br />zone until problem is corrected. <br /> <br />1. Wire new and existing flashing lights in renovated areas separately from audible <br />devices. When a general alarm signal is silenced at the control panel, lights will <br />continue to flash until the alarm condition is corrected. This requirement may only be <br />omitted where approval to do so is granted by both the authorities having jurisdiction <br />and the owner in writing prior to bid. Where rewiring of existing devices are necessary <br />to provide this function, include same in base bid with a deduct alternate for omission. <br /> <br />J. Maximum load capacity of alarm initiating and indicating device circuits shall not <br />exceed 80% of circuits total capacity. <br /> <br />K. Smoke Detector Application: <br />1. Use light refractory type detectors in all applications shown on drawings <br />(including duct mounting) with the following exceptions: <br />a. Use ionization detectors in areas susceptible to high concentrations of steam, <br />dust, or tobacco smoke. <br />b. Use fixed temperature heat detectors in kitchens, loading docks, mechanical <br />equipment rooms, elevator equipment rooms, and rooms containing steam <br />generating equipment. <br />2. Provide all detectors installed prior to completion of construction with protection <br />from contamination using sealed plastic coverage. All such covers shall be <br />removed on day of final system testing by architectural team and local authorities. <br /> <br />L. Remote annunciator operation: <br />1. A "trouble" condition on the fire alarm system to cause the affected zone lamp(s) <br />to flash and the trduble buzzer to sound continuously on the remote annunciator. <br />2. Operation of the trouble silencing switch to signal the trouble buzzer to silence <br />with the trouble light continuing to flash until the problem is corrected. <br /> <br />M. 120 Volt Power: <br />1. All fire alarm components requiring 120 Volt power are to be connected to a life <br />safety branch panel board. <br /> <br />N. Visual Indicating Appliances: <br />1.
