<br />.~.tr <br />j,/f <br /> <br /> <br />~. <br />11:1 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(, <br />v <br /> <br />4, Contractor shall furnish and install a white 40 - mil single-ply membrane <br />roofing system as per specifications contained herein, (See section 2.0 <br />Product) , <br />5, Contractor shall mechanically fasten the roofing membrane a minimum of <br />~- inch through the existing sheet metal roof, <br /> <br />C. Flashings and Roof Vents <br />1. Contractor shall install new louvered box-type ridge vents (similar to <br />existing vents) to include bird screen, damper, galvanized metal flashings, <br />and counter-flashings, Any additional roof penetrations that could possibly <br />allow water to penetrate the roof shall be properly flashed. These flashings <br />must be in accordance with the system supplier's recommendations, <br />2. Install new lead vent boots, and wall cants as need~d. <br /> <br />D. General Requirements <br />1, Precautions: <br />a, Do not lay or expose any insulation on the deck that cannot be covered <br />by membrane on the same day, <br />b, In making all field heat welds, make sure all edges are clean and free <br />of tar, mastic or other foreign items. <br />c, Do not expose membrane and accessories to a constant temperature <br />in excess of 110 degrees Fahrenheit. <br />d, Sealants and adhesives should be applied according to the system <br />supplier's specifications, <br />e, Start securing the membrane at the highest pqint and work towards the <br />edges of the roof, <br />2, Protection of roofing surfaces: <br />Steering, wheeling, or trucking directly on roof insulation or membrane <br />surface is not recommended, Smooth, clean plywood or plank walkways, <br />runways and platforms shall be provided as necessary, <br /> <br />E. Insulation Installation <br />The roof insulation shall be installed with approved fasteners and <br />distribution plates placed according to the manufacturer's most recent <br />published specifications for the use under the system supplier's roofing <br />system and for issuance of the warranty, <br /> <br />F. Membrane Installation <br />Install the roofing system to the system supplier's most recent published <br />specifications, ' <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />3 <br />
