<br />Electrical Notes <br />2002 Electrical Code <br />Dave Carr Construction <br /> <br />210.8(A): <br /> <br />All I 25-volt, single-phase, 15- and 20-ampere receptacles installed in the locations <br />specified in (1) through (8) shall have ground-fuult circuit-interrupter protection for <br />personnel. <br /> <br />( I ) Bathrooms <br /> <br />(2) Garages <br /> <br />(3) Outdoors <br /> <br />(6) Kitchens - where the receptacles are installed to serve the countertop surfaces <br /> <br />(7) Wet bar sinks - where the receptacles are installed to serve the countertop surfaces <br />and are located within 1.8 m (6 ft) of the outside edge of the wet bar sink. <br /> <br />210.11(C)(3): <br /> <br />In addition to the number of branch circuits required by other parts of this section, at least <br />one 20-ampere branch circuit shall be provided to supply the bathrOOJll receptacle <br />outlet(s)_ Such circuits shall have no other outlets. <br /> <br />Ex:ception: Where the 20-ampere circuit supplies a single bathroom. outlets for other <br />equipment within the same bathroom shall be permitted to be supplied in accordance <br />with 210.23(.4). <br /> <br />210.12(B): All branch circuits that supply 125-volt, single phase, 15- and 20-ampere outlets <br />(RECEPTACLES, LIGHTS, SMOKE DETECTORS) installed in dwelling unit <br />bedrooms shall be protected by an arc-fault circuit interrupter listed to provide protection <br />of the entire branch circuit. <br /> <br />210.52(A)(I): Receptacles shall be installed so that no point measured horizontally along the floor line <br />in any wall space is more than 1_8 m (6 ft) from a receptacle outlet. <br /> <br />210.52(B)(I): In the kitchen, pantry, breakfast room, dining room, or similar area ofa dwelling unit, the <br />two or more 20-ampere small-appliance branch circuits required by 2l0.11(C)(1) shall <br />serve all receptacle outlets covered by 21 0.52(A) and (C) and receptacle outlets for <br />refrigeration equipment. <br /> <br />210.52(C)(I): A receptacle outlet shall be installed at each wall counter space that is 300 nun (12 in.) or <br />wider. Receptacle outlets shall be installed so that no point along the wall line is more <br />than 600 nun (24 in.) measured horizontally from a receptacle outlet in that space. <br /> <br />21O.52(C)(2): At least one receptacle outlet shall be installed at each island counter space with a long <br />dimension of600 mm (24 in.) or greater and a short dimension of300 nun (12 in.) or <br />greater. <br /> <br />210.52(C)(3): At least one receptacle outlet shall be installed at each peninsular counter space with a <br />long dimension of600 nun (24 in.) or greater and a short dimension of300 mm (12 in_) <br />or greater. A peninsular countertop is measured from the connecting edge. <br /> <br />210.52(D): In dwelling units, at least one receptacle outlet shall be installed in bathrooms 900 nun <br />(3ft) of the outside edge of the basin.
