<br />4450. Fences <br /> <br />4451. Applicabil.ity <br /> <br />Fences shall include any man-made barrier or hedge erected for <br />the purpose of enclosure, exclusion, protection, privacy, <br />security, retainment or aesthetics. <br /> <br />4452. Standards <br /> <br />A. All fences to be build shall comply with the Standard <br />Building Code. The posts of each fence must be resistant to <br />decay, corrosion; and termite infestation. <br /> <br />B. Fences or hedges may be located in ail front side and <br />rear yard setback areas. Fences shall not exceed the height of <br />six feet in residential and OP districts, and 8 feet in <br />commercial and industrial districts. <br />I <br />C. In areas where the property faces two roadways, or is <br />located in any other area construed to be a corner lot, no fence <br />shall be located in the clear sight triangle. I <br /> <br />D. Any fence located adjacent to a public right-of-way or <br />private road shall be placed with the finished side facing that <br />right-of-way. <br /> <br />E. A fence required for safety and protection of hazard by <br />a public agency is not subject to height limitations. Approval <br />to exceed height standards may be given by the Director of <br />Development upon receipt of satisfactory evidence of the need to <br />exceed height standards. <br /> <br />F. No fence or hedge shall be construed or installed in <br />such a manne~ as to interfere with drainage on the site. <br /> <br />6404. Fences <br /> <br />Fences and walls shall be subject to the following: <br />A. General Provisions - All Districts <br /> <br />1. These regulations apply to all fences and walls <br />except those owned and erected by governmental agencies and <br />utility companies. <br /> <br />2. All persons desiring to construct any fence or <br />wall must first obtain a permit from the Building Department. <br />All applications shall include a plot plan showing the location <br />of all streets, easements, property lines, and buildings. Permdt <br />fees shall. be ba~ed on the value of construction with a minimum <br />fee to be .determined by the Building Official. <br /> <br />3. No fences, walls, or hedges shall be permitted <br />within any City, County, or State rights-of-way. <br /> <br />4. The property owner, prior to construction of any <br />fence or wall, shall asswne the responsibility for determi.ninq by <br />survey the correct. boundaries of the property to be fenced and . <br />the existence of any easement or rights-of-way that ~st. <br />Failure to provide the Building Department with complete and <br />accurate information when applying for a permit shall be <br />Sufficient cause for the BUilding Official to order the removal <br />of any construction not in compliance with this Code. <br />
