<br />1 ROUGH OPENING PREPARATION <br /> <br />A. Check for plumb, Ind, and square. <br />Note: Fix any problems with the optmiDg prior to prtJCt!eding. <br /> <br />B. Calculate the rough opening and/or window she based on the wood frame. The rough opening should be 3/8" <br />1: 1/S" larger in width and 1/4" to 3/8" larger in height than the window frame. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Note: Fix any problems with 1M rough opening before pTOCNding. <br /> <br />C. Remow the packaging from the window. <br />Note: Chedc product for any cracks or jNmetration in the frame. DO NOT inrtaO damag<<l units. <br /> <br />TWO OR MORE PEOPLE MAY BE REQUIRED FOR THE FOLWWING STEPS. <br /> <br />D. Test fit the window in the opening. Use shims between the window jambs and the sides of the rough opening to <br />temporarily hold the window in the opening, <br /> <br />E. Remow the window from the opening. <br /> <br />F. Place two 3/8" beads of sealant on the precast sill. Place the first bead 1-1/2" from the exterior edge of the sill. Place <br />the se<;ond bead 1/2" from the exterior edge of the sill. <br /> <br /> <br />@ <br /> <br /> <br />G.PIace a continuous 3/8" bead of sealant on the exterior edges of the 1 x 4 treated lumber and the edge of the <br />precast sill. <br />
