Prepare Sill Pan The sill pwi is a three-sided box made of thin, bendable, rigid sheet material that is not water degradable (such as sheet metal .flashing) that the window sits in on the rough opening. It is designed to catch er that infiltrates into the rough opening and divert it to the outside. This prevents damage fro water collecting on the rough opening sill. Refer to Diagram 2: Sill Pan Preparation. 1 Prepar the sill pan as follows: . Cpt the sill pan at the solid lines as illustrated in 1A 3 Fold t~e sill pan as follows: . F~ld the three 112" sides up; using pliers, fold corners to outside of pan on short sides (IB, 2B) .
