AI hardware locations, preparations for hardware and methods of hardware <br />a achments must be appropriate for the specific door construction. <br />T mplates for specific hardware preparation are available from hardware <br />m nufacturers, NWWOA or DHI. <br />5. P ot holes must be drilled for all screws that act as hardware attachments. <br />T readed-to-the-head screws are preferable for fastening hardware to <br />n nrated doors and are required on fire-rated doors. <br /> <br />CLEANI~G AND TOUCH-UP <br /> <br />1. I spect all wood stile and rail doors prior to hanging them on the job. Repair <br />n ticeable marks or defects that may have occurred from improper storage <br />a d handling. <br />2. F eld touch-up shall include the filling of exposed nail or screw holes, <br />r finishing of raw surfaces resulting from job fitting, repair of job-inflicted <br />s ratches and mars, and final cleaning of finished surfaces. Field repairs <br />a d touch-up should be the responsibility of the installing contractor. <br />3. en cleaning door surfaces, use a nonabrasive commercial cleaner <br />d signed for cleaning wood door or paneling surfaces that does not leave a <br />fi m residue that would build up or affect the surface gloss of the door finish. <br />I <br /> <br />ADJUS MENT AND MAINTENANCE <br /> <br />1. nsure that all doors swing freely and do not bind in their frame.
