Fees will <br /> be withheld until a revision is submitted. <br /> Should anyone have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Fire MarshaI's <br /> office. <br /> 1. This building was reviewed under NFPA 33, 2007 edition. This standard <br /> applies to the spray application of flammable or combustible materials, as <br /> herein defined, either continuously or intermittently by any of the following: <br /> (1) compressed air atomization, (2) airless or hydraulic atomization, (3) <br /> Electrostatic application methods or (4) other means of atomized application. <br /> This structure utilizes (3). The building is a partially enclosed structure (roof <br /> and semi enclosed walls on 2 sides) Therefore defines this area as an <br /> unenclosed spray area (NFPA 33, Chapter 3.3.1.3.1) There is no exception in <br /> NFPA stating this open shed design is equivalent to the outdoors. <br /> 2. 1.1.4 of NFPA 33 refers to makes a statement that it does not apply to <br /> application processes that are conducted outdoor, however when you read the <br /> information under that section in the appendix it refers to the spraying of a <br /> building or similar item in the outdoor. <br /> 3. NFPA 33, Chapter 1.3 states chapters 4 through 10 and Chapter 18 shall apply <br /> to all spray application processes which includes, construction, electrical, <br /> ventilation, storage & handling, protection, operation & maintenance and <br /> training. <br /> 4. Once the materials are laid out to be sprayed, there shall be a 3' clear space <br /> maintained on all sides and through the centers to provide for an unobstructed <br /> and safe egress. NFPA 33, Chapter 5.3.2 <br /> 5. Chapter 7.2 states each spray area shall be provided with mechanical <br /> ventilation. It shall be designed in accordance to NFPA 91. <br /> 6. Electrical shall be in accordance to chapter 7 ofNFPA 33 and NFPA 70. <br /> 7. Fire protection shall be in accordance with chapter 9 ofNFPA 33. <br />
