2 <br /> 8. , Maintenance procedures shall be established for maintaining all spray <br /> equipment, including air hoses, any ventilation equipment, and fire protection <br /> equipment. Approved waste containers shall be provided in designated <br /> locations for the disposal of impregnated (with sprayed material) rags or <br /> waste. Chapter 10 of NFPA 33. <br /> 9. No smoking signs shall be posted at all spray areas and mixing Iocations. <br /> Signs shall state "NO SMOKING OR OPEN FLAMES" in large letters on <br /> contrasting color background. Chapter 10 of NFPA 33 <br /> 10. No hot work of any kind is allowed in or adjacent to the spray area without <br /> authorized approval from the AHJ. Chapter 10 of NFPA 33 <br /> 11. All personnel involved in the spraying application process shall be trained in <br /> potential safety and health hazards, operational, maintenance, and emergency <br /> procedures required, and importance of constant operator awareness. They <br /> also shall be instructed in proper use, maintenance and storage of all <br /> emergency, safety or personal protective equipment required. All training <br /> shall be documented with name of person(s) attending training along with <br /> type of training and date. This information shall be provided to the AHJ prior <br /> to construction final. <br /> 12. The interior surfaces shall be smooth, designed and installed to prevent <br /> pockets that can trap residues, and designed to facilitate ventilation and <br /> cleaning. <br /> 13. When netting is installed over unenclosed openings, the building becomes <br /> enclosed and shall comply with NFPA 101, Chapter 7, Life Safety Code, <br /> which includes but not limited to, exit and emergency lighting and type of <br /> locking hardware allowed. <br /> 14, Portable fire extinguishers shall be in accordance with NFPA 10. NFPA 33 <br /> states that the hazard classification is "extra high ", therefore Chapter 6 of <br /> NFPA 10 states extinguisher type shall be a minimum of 40 -B provided every <br /> 30 feet or 80 -B provided every 50 feet. <br /> i f# ✓ <br /> KERR ` ' '4- TT, FIRE MARSHAL <br /> ***Please be advised this review of plans submitted is a cursory review to assist the contractor in <br /> compliance with applicable fire safety codes. This review is not intended to be a final approval of the <br /> submitted plans. It is the contractor's sole responsibility to ensure that the plans are in complete compliance <br /> with all applicable NFPA codes and local ordinances. In the event that further examination or site <br /> inspection reveals areas of non - compliance, it shall be the contractor's sole responsibility, at their sole <br /> expense to bring those areas in compliance. The City assumes no responsibility for the contractor's failure <br /> to be in compliance with all applicable NFPA codes and local ordinances. <br />
