If rated electrical boxes are used, documentation shall be provided to this <br /> office prior to use. <br /> 14. When taping and mudding fire rated walls and ceiling use rated mud and <br /> tape. <br /> 15. Label all access panels for what they are. Ensure all panels meet the rating. <br /> 16. Label all mechanical/electric rooms as such. <br /> 17. Label FACP room. <br /> 18. A knox box will be required. An application can be obtained from this office. <br /> 19. All penetrations through a fire rating shall be in accordance to the method <br /> provided in the plans. <br /> 20. Add emergency lights in pool restrooms. <br /> 21. Add exit light in multipurpose room entering gallery and veranda. <br /> 22. Add exit light at intersection of halls in community area. <br /> 23. Change exit lights to combination exidemergency lights at entrance and rear <br /> egress area of main hall. <br /> 24. Add emergency lights in veranda areas. <br /> 25. Emergency instructions shall be provided annually to each dwelling unit to <br /> indicate location of alarms, egress paths, actions to be taken both with <br /> response to fire or sounding of the alarm. <br /> 26. Smoke detectors in each unit shall be tested monthly and batteries changed <br /> semi-annually. A log shall be kept. <br /> 27. Extinguisher log also shall be kept for individual units. <br /> 28. A written record shall be kept of monthly operation of the firefighters <br /> emergency operation in the elevators. <br /> 29. Elevators shall comply with ASME A17.1 <br /> 30. The following shall be tested: <br /> A. Fire Alarm — annually <br /> B. Sprinklers and standpipes — quarterly <br /> C. Backflow assembly — annually <br /> D. Fire extinguishers — annually <br /> E. Elevator — annually <br /> F. Smoke detectors — monthly (tested) semi-annually (batteries) <br /> G. Hood Suppression — semi-annually <br /> H. Hood cleaning — semi-annually <br /> NOTE: Revisions should be specific to comments and addressed on a letterhead. <br />
