The switches are intended for use with electric gas <br /> valves, alarms, contactors, lights, contractor supplied electric <br /> power shut-off devices, and other e(ectrical devices that are <br /> designed to shut off or turn on when the fire suppression system <br /> is actuated. <br /> Pressure Switches that may be used on system are <br /> Description Part No. <br /> Single-Pole, Double-Throw` 53133 <br /> Double-Pole, Double-Throw� 24377 <br /> 'Rated for 20 amps,125,250 or 480 VAC with 10 amp 125 VAC"L"1 hp-115 VAC,2 hp-23o <br /> VAC,1/2 amp 125 VDC,1/4 amp 250 VDC.A relay must be supplied by others if equipment <br /> load exceeds the rated capacity of the switch. <br /> ELECTRICAL SWITCH REQUIREMENTS <br /> The electric (snap-action) switches for the PIRANHA system are <br /> specially designed to fit the regulated release assembly The <br /> switches can be used to connect to alarm circuits in a building fire <br /> alarm panel, when provided in the buiiding. The switch(es) has <br /> both Normally Open (N O.) and Normally Closed (N C) dry con- <br /> ►tacts rated at 21 amp.The switches are also intended for use with <br /> electric gas valves, alarms, contactors, lights, contractor supplied <br /> electric power shut-off devices, and other electrical devices that <br /> are designed to shut off or turn on when the fire suppression sys- <br /> tem is actuated. (See Figures 23 through 25 for reference) <br /> Contractors shall supply "UL listed, enclosed industrial control <br /> equipment or magnetic switch having a rating matching that of the <br /> cooking appliance,coil 110 VAC/60 Hz or 24 VAC/60 Hz." <br /> All electrical connections should be performed by a QUALIFIED <br /> ELECTRICIAN and in accordance with authority having <br /> jurisdiction. <br /> Each PIRANHA AUTOMAN Regulated Release Assembly <br /> includes two (2) single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) snap-action <br /> ►switches.Each switch is rated at 21 amp, 1 HP, 125,250,277 VAC <br /> ;or 2 HP 250, 277 VAC Six wire assembiies are included. <br /> Unused wire leads will become"hoY'when the system is oper- <br /> ated. Failure to adequately cover exposed wire end(s) wifl <br /> cause electric shock if touched. <br /> Electrical wiring and equipment shall be installed in accordance <br /> with NFPA 70(National Electrical Code)or the requirements of the <br /> authority having jurisdiction <br /> If a fire alarm system is provided, the fire extinguishing system <br /> shall be connected to the alarm system in accordance with the <br /> requirements of NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm Code, so that the <br /> actuation of the extinguishing system will sound the fire alarm as <br /> well as provide the extinguishing function of the system. <br /> There is no way to supervise electrical actuation of the system. <br /> Therefore, make certain that fuse link detection is used as well as <br /> electrical actuation to provide operation in cases of lack of power <br />
