O. Conduits shall enter the control panel eraclosures only in the approved locations, as <br /> identified in the FAEM installation instructions. <br /> P. Install all hangers, clamps, conduit, and backboxes for the fire alarm system prior to the <br /> application of fireproofing on structural members. The hangers, clamps, conduit, and <br /> backboxes for the fire alarm system shall be installed on the edge of any beam requiring <br /> fireproofing. Backboxes shall be fastened to the flange of the beam utilizing beam <br /> clamps, and shall not be attached directly to the beam. Verify the locations of all <br /> fireproofing, prior to the installation of any fire alarm conduit or backboxes. <br /> Q. Any damage to fireproofing on the building structure as a result of the fire alarm system <br /> installation shall be repaired by a qualified Fireproofing Contractor. All damage and repair <br /> of fireproofing shall be reported to and coordinated through the General Contractor. The <br /> Contractor shall be responsible for all fireproofing repairs at no additional cost to the <br /> Owner. <br /> 3 03 EQUIPMENT MOUNTING <br /> A. The control panels and auxiliary power supplies shall be surface mounted in accordance <br /> with the mounting heights indicated on the engineering drawings. <br /> B Duct detectors are furnished and installed by others. The alarm and trouble contacts of <br /> the duct detector shall be monitored with an addressable module (popit). The connection <br /> to the alarm and trouble contacts shall be configured to initiate and alarm condition <br /> without being affected by the status of the trouble contacts. Detectors shall be accessible <br /> for cleaning and shall be mounted in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and <br /> NFPA standards Coordinate placement and connect all circuits. <br /> C Remote test stations (furnished by Hobby Lobby)shall be mounted on a column in <br /> proximity of the associated duct smoke detector in accordance with the mounting heights <br /> indicated on the engineering drawings with the final locations acceptable to the AHJ. <br /> D For individual shutdown of each RTU, configure the duct smoke detector to utilize the <br /> auxiliary alarm contacts of the duct smoke detector to shutdown the RTU through the <br /> individual RTU controller Provide any required intermediate relays for connections to <br /> HVAC controls. Provide cabling and wiring connections to HVAC controls. Final <br /> terminations to HVAC controls are by Mechanical or Controls Contractor. <br /> E. Smoke detectors shall be mounted on the underside of the ceiling or deck, and shall be <br /> located more than three (3)feet from mechanical air diffusers <br /> F. Smoke detectors shall not be installed until after the construction clean-up of all trades is <br /> complete and final Detectors that have been installed prior to final clean-up by all trades <br /> shall be cleaned or replaced in accordance with NFPA 72 <br /> G. The remote annunciator shall be mounted in accordance with the mounting heights <br /> indicated on the engineering drawings.
