Hedge . Any plantings , shrubs or natural vegetation <br /> placed so as to form a continuous line or barrier . <br /> (b ) Permits , fees and standards . All persons <br /> desiring to construct any fence , wall or hedge in - excess <br /> of thirty ( 30) inches in height must firstobtain a <br /> permit from the building department . All applications <br /> must include a plot plan showing the relative location of <br /> all streets , easements , property lines and buildings . <br /> Permit fees 'dial 1 be based on the value of the <br /> construction with a minimum fee of five ( $5 .00) . The <br /> construction' of all fences , walls or hedges in all <br /> districts shall comply with the following standards : <br /> ( 1 ) Height . The height of any fence located in the <br /> front yard of a lot shall not exceed three ( 3) feet . The <br /> height of any wall or hedge shall not exceed thirty ( 30) <br /> inches . No plantings or shrubs of any type within the <br /> clear sight triangle shall exceed thirty ( 30) inches . <br /> The height of any fence, wall or hedge located in <br /> the rear or side yard of any lot shall not exceed, Ox (6 ) <br /> feet in residential districts and eight ( 8) feet in, all <br /> other districts , except where the adjacent property is <br /> zoned residential in which case the residential limit <br /> shall apply. . <br /> (2 ) Material . _ All fences must be constructed of <br /> new materials and the design and appearance shall be. <br /> consistent with that commonly used in any district <br /> Only chain link , welded wire or decorative woven <br /> wire can be used in the front yard of a lot and must be <br /> constructed of a material that is at least ninety ( 90) <br /> percent transparent . Post or top rails cannot exceed two <br /> ( 2 ) inches in diameter . Fences located in a side or rear <br /> =_yard may be of any suitable material and may be solid or <br /> semi -transparent .
