the change before proceeding with the work. The request for such changes shall be <br /> accomplished by submission of Shop Drawings of the space in question. <br /> D. The Contractor is responsible for the proper location and size of all slots, holes, or openings in <br /> the building structure pertaining, and for the correct location of pipe sleeves. <br /> E. The Contractor shall so coordinate the work so that it may be installed in the most direct and <br /> workmanlike manner. Piping interferences shall be handled by giving precedence to pipe lines, <br /> which require a stated slope for proper operation. Sewer lines, storm lines, and condensate <br /> piping shall take precedence over water lines in determination of elevations. Where there is <br /> interference between sewer lines, storm lines, and condensate lines, the sewer lines shall have <br /> precedence and provisions shall be made in the condensate lines for looping them around the <br /> sewer lines. In all cases, lines requiring a stated grade for their proper operation shall have <br /> precedence over electrical work and ductwork. <br /> F. All piping and ductwork in finished areas, except where noted to the contrary, shall be installed in <br /> chases, furred spaces, above ceilings, etc. In all cases, pipes and ducts shall be installed as high <br /> as possible. Runs of piping shall be grouped whenever feasible. <br /> G. All oiling devices and all parts of equipment requiring adjustments shall be easily accessible. <br /> Provide access doors and panels if required for proper maintenance of all equipment and devices <br /> requiring service. <br /> 1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br /> A. All existing utilities shall be located prior to the beginning of work. Any conflicts shall be resolved <br /> and noted on the Record Documents. <br /> B. Adequate means of protection for all utilities shall be provided and, if utilities are damaged during <br /> working operations, such shall be repaired to the satisfaction of the Owner, at no cost to the <br /> contract. <br /> C. Where existing devices are permanently abandoned, each duct, pipe, etc., shall be completely <br /> removed and the duct or pipe plugged or capped at a point well behind the proposed new finished <br /> closures or newly finished surfaces. <br /> 1.9 COORDINATION <br /> A. Coordinate the layout of mechanical work with other trades. Locations of structural systems, <br /> plumbing, and HVAC work should take preference over the location of conduit runs. <br /> PART 2- PRODUCTS <br /> NOT APPLICABLE <br /> PART 3-EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 ORGANIZATION OF THE WORK: <br /> A. All work shall be installed as required to meet all construction schedules. <br /> B. Prior to starting the work, carefully verify all measurements at the site and determine that the <br /> work will properly clear openings, structural members and other work. Correlate the time of each <br /> work item with all other items to the best advantage of the completed job.
