2. Single phase motors shall be capacitor start, capacitor run. <br /> 2.2 EQUIPMENT POWER FACTOR <br /> A. Equipment requiring 1000 watts or more shall have a factor of 85% or greater at rated load <br /> conditions. Equipment with power factor less than 85% shall be corrected to at least 90% under <br /> full load operating conditions. Power factor corrective devices shall be switched with related <br /> equipment. <br /> PART 3-EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 CONTROL WIRING INSTALLATION <br /> A. Control wiring in walls and exposed in Mechanical Rooms and spaces shall be run in thin wall <br /> conduit. <br /> 3.2 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. Motor characteristics which change from that specified, due to the Contractor electing to use one <br /> of the optional manufacturers, or an updated model, etc:, shall be coordinated with the Electrical <br /> Contractor.
