Fastened to flashing channels with 3/4 In, long sheet metal screws spaced 12 In. OC. Interlocking joints of adjacent panels sealed with factory - <br />applied butyl caulking and secured with 3/4 in. long sheet metal screws spaced 12 in. OC. Optionally, butyl tape applied between the steel liner panels and <br />the flashing channels to provide an air barrier. <br />or <br />2.(b) Wall and Partition Facings — Corrugated or flat panel, available in various profiles and widths, fabricated from 22 MSG thick galvanized or <br />aluminum -zinc alloy coated sheet steel. Optionally, butyl tape applied between the panels and <br />the flashing channels to provide an air barrier. <br />3. Z-Bar Sub-Glrts — Notched Z-bars 8 in. wide with 1-3/4 in. flanges fabricated from nominal 18 MSG thick galvanized or aluminum -zinc alloy -coated <br />sheet steel. Spaced a maximum of 5 ft. OC. Fastened to the steel liner panels (item 2a) or wall and partition panels (items 2b or 2c) with 1-1/4 in. long <br />sheet metal screws spaced not more than 8 in. OC. <br />4. Ceramic Fibre Blanket — 8 pcf density, 1/2 in. thick, installed to envelop the top surface and both flanged edges of the z-bar sub-girts. Blanket fixed <br />to sub-girts with stick pins spaced 10 in. OC. <br />5. Batts and Blankets — (BZJZ). Two layers of mineral wool batts, 24 or 32 in. wide by minimum 4 ft. long by 4 in. thick, designated "Roxulp Firewall <br />2HR". Wall Assembly — The 1 or 2 hr fire -rated gypsum wallboard/stud assembly shall be constructed of the materials and in <br />the manner specified in the individual U300 or U400 Series Wall and Partition Designs in the UL Fire Resistance Directory and <br />shall include the following construction features: <br />A. Studs — Wall flaming may consist of either wood studs or steel channel studs. Wood studs to <br />consist of nom 2 by 4 in. lumber spaced 16 in. OC. Steel studs to be min 2-1/2 in. wide and spaced <br />max 24 in. OC. <br />B. Gypsum Board* — 5/8 in. thick, 4 ft wide with square or tapered edges. The gypsum wallboard <br />type, thickness, number of layers, fastener type and sheet orientation shall be as specified in the <br />individual U300 or U400 Series Design in the UL Fire Resistance Directory. Max dery of opening is 5 <br />in. <br />2. Through Penetrants — One metallic pipe, conduit or tubing to be centered within the firestop system. A nom annular <br />space of 1/4 in. is required within the firestop system. Pipe, conduit or tubing to be rigidly supported on both sides of wall <br />assembly. The following types and sizes of metallic pipes, conduits or tubing may be used: <br />A. Steel Pipe — Nom 4 in. diam (or smaller) Schedule 5 (or heavier) steel pipe. <br />B. Conduit — Nom 4 in. diam (or smaller) steel electrical metallic tubing or rigid steel conduit. <br />3. Firestop System — The firestop system shal consist of the following: <br />A. Packing Material — (Optional) — Nom 1/2 in. diam poyurethane backer rod friction fitted into <br />the opening. Packing material to be recessed from both surfaces of wall as required to <br />accommodate the required thickness of fit material. <br />B. F81, Vold or Cavity Material* — Caulk — For 2 hr fire -rated assemblies, min 5/8 In. thickness <br />of fill material applied within annulus on both surfaces of wall.
