TOOLS <br />TRANSPORTATION, PERMITS, ETC., NECESSARY FOR, OR <br />INCIDENTAL TO, THE INSTALLATION OF COMPLETE SYSTEMS OF <br />ELECTRIC WIRING FOR LIGHTING, POWER AND MISCELLANEOUS <br />SYSTEMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. <br />B. FURNISH, ERECT, INSTALL, CONNECT, CLEAN, ADJUST, TEST AND <br />CONDITION ALL MANUFACTURED ARTICLES, MATERWS, AND <br />EQUIPMENT, AND PLACE IN SERVICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE <br />MANUFACTURER'S DIRECTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS, EXCEPT <br />AS OTHERWISE NOTED. <br />C. <br />CAREFULLY EXAMINE THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, VISIT THE <br />SITE AND THOROUGHLY BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE LOCAL <br />CONDITIONS RELATING TO THE WORK. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL <br />NOT RELIEVE THE CONTRACTOR OF THE OBUGA71ONS OF THE <br />CONTRACT. <br />CODES <br />A. INSTALLATION SHALL BE MADE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE <br />FLORIDA CODE AND ALL AHJ CODES. INSTALLATION SHALL ALSO <br />BE MADE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE <br />PUBLIC UTILITY COMPANY WHICH WILL SERVE THE PROPERTY. <br />STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS <br />A THE WORK AND MATERIALS SHALL COMPLY WITH THE LATEST <br />EDITION OF ALL APPLICABLE SAFETY AND PERFORMANCE <br />STANDARDS AND CODES. <br />B. IN EVERY INSTALLATION WHERE REGULATIONS OF ELECTRIC <br />UTILITY COMPANY APPLY, CONFORMANCE WITH THEIR <br />REGULATIONS IS MANDATORY AND ANY COSTS INVOLVED SHALL <br />BE INCLUDED IN THE CONTRACT. <br />C. SHOULD WORK BE PERFORMED WHICH DOES NOT COMPLY WITH <br />THE REQUIREMENTS OF APPLICABLE BUILDING CODES, STATE <br />AND FEDERAL LAWS, LOCAL ORDINANCES, INDUSTRY STANDARDS <br />AND UTILITY COMPANY REGULATIONS, CHANGES FOR <br />COMPLIANCE SHALL BE DONE AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE <br />OWNER. <br />D. <br />SECURE AND PAY FOR ALL PERMITS, GOVERNMENTAL FEES, <br />TAXES, AND LICENSES NECESSARY FOR THE PROPER <br />EXECUTION AND COMPLETION OF THE WORK REQUIRED. <br />DEFINITIONS <br />A. FURNISH: EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE DEFINED IN GREATER DETAIL. <br />TERM "FURNISH' IS USED TO MEAN SUPPLY AND DELIVER TO <br />PROJECT SITE, READY FOR UNLOADING, UNPACKING, ASSEMBLY, <br />INSTALLATION, ETC., AS APPLICABLE IN EACH INSTANCE <br />B. INSTALL EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE DEFINED IN GREATER DETAIL. <br />TERM "INSTALL" IS USED TO DESCRIBE OPERATIONS AT <br />PROJECT SITE INCLUDING UNLOADING, UNPACKING, ASSEMBLY, <br />ERECTION, PLACING, ANCHORING, APPLYING, WORKING TO <br />DIMENSION, FINISHING, CURING, PROTECTING, CLEANING, <br />CONNECTIONS, WIRING, ADJUSTING, TESTING (IF REQUIRED) AND <br />SIMILAR OPERATIONS, AS APPLICABLE IN EACH INSTANCE <br />C. PROVIDE: EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE DEFINED IN GREATER DETAIL, <br />TERM "PROVIDE' MEAN FURNISH AND INSTALL, COMPLETE AND <br />READY FOR INTENDED USE, AS APPLICABLE IN EACH <br />INSTANCE. <br />PRODUCT DATA <br />A. ALL EQUIPMENT, MATERIAL AND FIXTURES SHALL BE REVIEWED <br />BY THE ENGINEER BEFORE ORDERS ARE PLACED. THE <br />ENGINEER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY MATERIAL <br />WHICH, IN THE OPINION OF THE ENGINEER, IS NOT IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER <br />INSTALLATION. <br />B. <br />ALL EQUIPMENT, MATERIAL AND FIXTURES SHALL BE TESTED <br />AND LISTED BY UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES INC. AND <br />OFFICIAL LISTS OF ALL GOVERNMENT AND INSURANCE BOARDS <br />WAVING JURISDICTION. <br />GOVERNMENTAL SUBMITTALS <br />A. PREPARE SHOP DRAWINGS REQUIRED FOR THE SUBMITTAL OF <br />EXIT AND EMERGENCY LIGHTING, LIFE SAFETY AND FIRE ALARM <br />SYSTEMS TO THE GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES. <br />B. SUBMIT TO GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES AND UTILITY COMPANIES <br />SHOP DRAWINGS, WHICH ARE REQUIRED BY THESE AGENCIES, <br />FOR THEIR APPROVAL <br />COORDINATION <br />A EXACT LOCATION OF EQUIPMENT FURNISHED BY THE OTHER <br />TRADES AND WIRED BY THE ELECTRICAL TRADE SHALL BE <br />OBTAINED FROM THE DRAWINGS OF THE OTHER TRADES. <br />B. INSTALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT TO FACILITATE MAINTENANCE <br />AND REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF EQUIPMENT COMPONENTS. <br />RECORD DRAWINGS <br />A. PROVIDE RECORD "AS -BUILT' DRAWINGS AND SUBMIT TO <br />ENGINEER. <br />B. <br />DRAWINGS SHALL INDICATE ACTUAL BRANCH CIRCUIT NUMBERS <br />USED AND EXACT LOCATIONS OF ALL EQUIPMENT, DEVICES, <br />AND LIGHTING FIXTURES. <br />QUALITY CONTROL SUBMITTALS <br />A. AFTER ALL EQUIPMENT, DEVICES AND RACEWAYS ARE INSTALLED <br />AND WIRES AND CABLES ARE IN PLACE AND CONNECTED TO <br />DEVICES AND EQUIPMENT, TEST THE SYSTEM FOR CONTINUITY, <br />PROPER PHASE ROTATION, SHORT CIRCUIT, IMPROPER <br />GROUNDS, AND OTHER DEFECTS. IF DEFECTIVE CONDITION IS <br />PRESENT, MAKE ALL NECESSARY CORRECTIONS AND RETEST <br />FOR COMPLIANCE. <br />WARRANTY <br />A. ELECTRICAL WORK SHALL BE GUARANTEED FOR BOTH MATERIALS <br />AND LABOR FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR. <br />B. NOTE THAT GUARANTEES SHALL RUN FROM DATE OF <br />SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION OF THE WORK, NOT FROM THE DATE <br />OF INSTALLATION OF THE REM OR DEVICE. <br />TEMPORARY LIGHT AND POWER <br />A. PROVIDE ELECTRIC SERVICE OF SUFFICIENT CAPACITY TO <br />SUPPLY THE ELECTRIC UGHTING AND POWER REQUIREMENTS <br />OF THE CONSTRUCTION SITE <br />B. ALL NECESSARY TRANSFORMERS, METERS, CABLES, <br />PANELBOARDS. LAMPS, SWITCHES, RECEPTACLES AND <br />ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT SHALL BE PROVIDED. <br />C. TEMPORARY LIGHTS SHALL BE BASED ON A MINIMUM OF 1 <br />WATT/SQ. FT., EXCEPT WHERE HIGHER LIGHTING INTENSITIES <br />ARE REQUIRED BY CODES OR STANDARDS OR SPECIFIED, IN <br />WHICH CASE THE WATTAGE SHALL BE INCREASED TO PROVIDE <br />THE HIGHER INTENSITIES. SUFFICIENT WIRING, OUTLETS AND <br />LAMPS SHALL BE INSTALLED TO ENSURE PROPER LIGHTING IN <br />ROOMS, SPACES, STAIRS, EGRESS, AND PASSAGE AREAS. <br />MINIMUM SIZE LAMP USED SHALL BE 100 WATTS. <br />D. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PAY FOR COST OF ENERGY AND <br />POWER CONSUMED BY ALL TRADES. <br />E. TEMPORARY WIRING OF A SPECIAL NATURE FOR UGHTING, <br />SAFETY AND POWER OTHER THAN MENTIONED ABOVE. SHALL <br />BE PAID FOR BY THOSE USING SAME <br />F. TEMPORARY WORK SHALL BE REMOVED AFTER IT HAS SERVED <br />ITS PURPOSE <br />G. LAMPS INSTALLED IN PERMANENT LIGHTING FIXTURES AND USED <br />FOR LIGHTING DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE REPLACED <br />JUST PRIOR TO THE DATE OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION. <br />MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT <br />A. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE NEW, UL OR CSA <br />LABELED AND SHALL BEAR THE MANUFACTURER'S NAME, MODEL <br />NUMBER AND OTHER IDENTIFICATION MARKINGS. <br />B. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE THE STANDARD PRODUCT <br />OF A MANUFACTURER REGULARLY ENGAGED IN THE <br />PRODUCTION OF THE REQUIRED TYPE OF MATERIAL OR <br />EQUIPMENT FOR AT LEAST FIVE (5) YEARS (UNLESS <br />SPECIFICALLY EXEMPTED BY THE ENGINEER) AND SHALL BE <br />THE MANUFACTURER'S LATEST DESIGN WITH PUBLISHED <br />PROPERTIES. <br />C. <br />EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS OF THE SAME GENERAL TYPE <br />SHALL BE OF THE SAME MANUFACTURER THROUGHOUT THE <br />PROJECT TO PROVIDE UNIFORM APPEARANCE, OPERATION AND <br />D. MAINTENANCE <br />REFER TO MATERIAL LISTS AND SCHEDULES ON THE DRAWINGS <br />FOR MATERIAL NOT DESCRIBED IN THE SPECIFICATION. <br />INSTALLATION <br />A. THE DRAWINGS FOR WORK ARE DIAGRAMMATIC AND ARE <br />INTENDED TO CONVEY THE SCOPE OF WORK AND INDICATED <br />THE GENERAL ARRANGEMENT OF CONDUIT, BOXES, EQUIPMENT, <br />FIXTURES AND OTHER WORK INCLUDED IN THE CONTRACT. <br />B. LOCATION OF ITEMS REQUIRED BY THE DRAWINGS OR <br />SPECIFICATIONS NOT DEFINITELY FIXED BY DIMENSIONS ARE <br />APPROXIMATE ONLY. EXACT LOCATIONS NECESSARY TO SECURE <br />THE BEST CONDITIONS AND RESULTS SHALL BE DETERMINED AT <br />THE SITE, AND SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE <br />ENGINEER. <br />C. <br />WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE ENGINEER AND WITHOUT <br />ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER, MAKE MINOR <br />MODIFICATIONS IN THE WORK AS REQUIRED BY STRUCTURAL <br />INTERFERENCE, BY INTERFERENCE WITH WORK OF OTHER <br />D. TRADES OR FOR PROPER EXECUTION OF WORK. <br />WORK INSTALLED BEFORE COORDINATED WITH OTHER TRADES <br />SO AS TO CAUSE INTERFERENCE WITH THE WORK OF SUCH <br />OTHER TRADES SHALL BE CHANGED TO CORRECT SUCH <br />E CONDITION WITHOUT ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER AS <br />DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER. <br />ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL REFER TO CONTRACT <br />DOCUMENTS FOR DETAILS, REFLECTED CEILING PLANS, AND <br />LARGE SCALE DRAWINGS. <br />AIR PLENUM CEILINGS <br />A. EQUIPMENT AND WIRING INSTALLED IN CEILINGS USED AS AIR <br />PLENUMS SHALL BE APPROVED FOR THAT USE. <br />1. ALL EQUIPMENT AND WIRING SHALL CONFORM TO ALL LOCAL <br />GOVERNING CODES. <br />2. EQUIPMENT SPECIFIED OR SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS <br />SHALL ALSO INCLUDE ANY MODIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO <br />CONFORM TO ALL APPLICABLE CODES. <br />B. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL REFER TO ARCHITECTURAL AND <br />MECHANICAL DRAWINGS TO VERIFY AREAS DESIGNATED FOR USE <br />AS AIR PLENUMS. <br />CUTTING AND PATCHING <br />A. DO CORE DRILLING, CUTTING, FITTING AND PATCHING <br />NECESSARY FOR INSTALLATION OF CONDUITS, WIREWAYS, AND <br />OTHER ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. PROVIDE SUPPORTS NECESSARY <br />FOR THE SAME AND FOR BRACING AND ANCHORAGE OF WORK. <br />NO CUTTING OF STRUCTURAL WORK OR OF FIREPROOFING <br />SHALL BE DONE WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE ENGINEER. <br />B. CONDUITS PASSING THROUGH ROOFS OR OTHER SURFACES <br />EXPOSED TO WEATHER SHALL BE PROPERLY FLASHED. <br />C. ALL PENETRATIONS SHALL BE PROPERLY FIREPROOFED. <br />D. INTERIOR PARTITIONS OF THE PERIMETER WALLS ARE FINISHED <br />WITH DRYWALL UP TO DECKING. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR <br />SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CUTTING AND PATCHING AS <br />REQUIRED TO INSTALL RECESSED CONDUIT AND OUTLET BOXES <br />IN THESE WALLS. <br />EQUIPMENT NOISE LIMITATION <br />A. PAD DIMENSION SHALL BE 2 INCHES (MINIMUM) GREATER ON <br />EACH SIDE OF THE FLOOR DIMENSION OF THE ELECTRICAL <br />EQUIPMENT. THE EDGE OF THE PAD SHALL HAVE A 1 INCH <br />CHAMFER ON EACH SIDE. <br />TOUCH-UP PAINTING <br />A. ALL EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS SHALL BE THOROUGHLY <br />CLEANED OF RUST, SPLATTERS AND OTHER FOREIGN MATTER <br />OR DISCOLORATION LEAVING EVERY PART OF ALL SYSTEMS IN <br />AN ACCEPTABLE PRIME CONDITION. THE CONTRACTOR FOR THE <br />WORK UNDER HIS CONTRACT SHALL REFINISH AND RESTORE TO <br />THE ORIGINAL CONDITION ALL EQUIPMENT WHICH HAS <br />SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE MANUFACTURER'S PRIME AND <br />FINISH COATS OF PAINT AND/OR ENAMEL <br />CLEAN UP <br />A. AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THE ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION, THE <br />ENTIRE SYSTEM SHALL BE THOROUGHLY CLEANED. CLEAN AND <br />VACUUM FOREIGN MATTER FROM ALL ENCLOSURES, LIGHTING <br />FIXTURES, EQUIPMENT AND CONDUITS. <br />DEFECTIVE WORK AND MATERIALS <br />A.
