GENERAL: <br />SPECIFICATION SECTIONS 01 11 00 SUMMARY OF WORK, <br />20 05 00 COMMON WORK RESULTS FOR MECHANICAL, <br />20 07 00 MECHANICAL INSULATION, SECTION 23 30 00 HVAC AIR DISTRIBUTION, SECTION 23 80 00 <br />DECENTRALIZED HVAC EQUIPMENT AND 26 05 00 COMMON WORK RESULTS FOR ELECTRICAL SHALL <br />BE CONSIDERED A PART OF THIS WORK. <br />2. EQUIPMENT: <br />2.1 ALL RTU'S AND REMOTE CONDENSING UNITS ARE LOCATED ON THE ROOF AND ARE SHOWN DOTTED <br />ON FLOOR PLAN. <br />2.2 SEE ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS FOR HVAC EQUIPMENT ROOF CURBS, EXHAUST FAN ROOF CURBS, <br />GAS PIPE PORTALS, AND CONDENSATE DRAIN PORTALS (IF APPLICABLE). HVAC EQUIPMENT ROOF <br />CURBS AND EXHAUST FAN ROOF CURBS ARE FURNISHED BY MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR. <br />2.3 OUTSIDE AIR INTAKE ON ROOF SHALL BE LOCATED A MINIMUM OF 15'-0" AWAY FROM ANY <br />EXHAUST DUCT, BLOWER DISCHARGE, PLUMBING VENTS, ETC. <br />2.4 PROVIDE LAMINATED BAKELITE NAME PLATES ON EACH HVAC UNIT AND LOCATE NEXT TO UNIT NAME <br />TAG (HP-1, EF-1, ETC.). IN ADDITION CONTRACTOR TO APPLY WALGREENS PROVIDED ASSET TAG AS <br />WELL AS ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION (ASSET TAG NUMBER, SERIAL NUMBER, MAKE, MODEL, YEAR <br />OF INSTALL.) A/E TEAM TO PROVIDE INFORMATION TO WALGREENS POINT OF CONTACT. <br />2.5 IMMEDIATELY AFTER AN HVAC UNIT IS INSTALLED, PROVIDE A MERV 8 OR BETTER TEMPORARY AIR <br />FILTER OVER THE RETURN AIR INLET OF EACH HVAC UNIT AND/OR EACH RETURN AIR GRILLE AS <br />APPLICABLE. REMOVE PRIOR TO TESTING, ADJUSTING AND BALANCING. <br />2.6 INSTALL THE FIRST OF TWO SETS OF THROWAWAY FILTERS PROVIDED WITH EACH HVAC UNIT <br />IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING INSTALLATION OF THE UNIT. THE SECOND SET OF FILTERS SHALL BE <br />INSTALLED IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO TESTING, ADJUSTING AND BALANCING. <br />3. CONDENSATE DRAIN SYSTEM: <br />3.1 LOCATE CONDENSATE DRAIN PIPING SO IT WILL NOT INTERFERE WITH THE REQUIRED ACCESS TO <br />THE NEW OR EXISTING HVAC UNITS. <br />4. AIR DISTRIBUTION: <br />4.1 DUCTWORK SHALL BE GALVANIZED STEEL METAL PER SMACNA. REFER TO SPECIFICATION 23 30 00 <br />AND DRAWING NOTE 10.1 ON DRAWING M-010. INTERNAL LINING IS NOT PERMITTED IN THE SUPPLY <br />DUCTWORK. <br />4.2 INSTALL AND ADJUST SUPPLY AIR DIFFUSERS AND GRILLES TO AVOID LIGHT FIXTURES STRIATION <br />AND SIGNAGE SWINGING FROM OR BLOCKING AIRFLOW. LOCATE DIFFUSERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH <br />THE ARCHITECTURAL REFLECTED CEILING PLAN. <br />4.3 SUPPLY AND/OR RETURN AIR CEILING PLENUMS ARE NOT PERMITTED. <br />4.4 ALL VOLUME DAMPERS SHALL BE FLAGGED WITH STREAMERS FOR EASY IDENTIFICATION <br />ESPECIALLY WHEN COVERED WITH INSULATION. <br />4.5 AIR BALANCING: BALANCE AIR TO INDICATED QUANTITIES WITHIN A TOLERANCE OF PLUS OR MINUS <br />10%. ADJUST SUPPLY AIR GRILLE BLADES TO MEET COMFORT CONDITIONS IN WORKING AREA PER <br />MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS_ <br />5. MISCELLANEOUS: <br />5.1 EXPOSED UN -INSULATED PIPING IN GENERAL SALES SHALL BE PAINTED BY OTHERS. <br />6. HVAC CONTROL CONCEPT OF OPERATION: <br />6.1 HEAT PUMPS TO BE CONTROLLED BY THERMOSTAT WITHIN THE ROOM OF THE UNIT. <br />7. INSULATION <br />7.1 INSULATE DUCTWORK AND PIPING PER SPECIFICATION 20 07 00. <br />7.2 EXPOSED INSULATED PIPING IN GENERAL SALES SHALL BE COVERED WITH 20 MILS PVC JACKET <br />MEETING SPECIFICATION 20 07 00 REQUIREMENTS. PVC JACKET COLOR SHALL BE SELECTED BY THE <br />ARCHITECT. <br />7.3 INSULATE ALL CONDENSATE DRAIN PIPING INSIDE THE BUILDING TO INCLUDE MAINS, BRANCHES AND <br />VENTS. INSULATION TO MEET SPECIFICATION 20 07 00 REQUIREMENTS. <br />8.
