PROVIDE REMOTE POWER SUPPLIES AS REQUIRED FOR NOTIFICATION APPLIANCE <br />CIRCUITS, NOT TO EXCEED 80% OF CAPACITY. <br />8. PROVIDE SMOKE DETECTOR ABOVE EACH REMOTE POWER SUPPLY PANEL. <br />9. IF REQUIRED, SMOKE DETECTOR LAYOUT SHALL COMPLY WITH SECTIONS 17.5 AND <br />17.7 IN NFPA 72. ADDITIONAL SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE PROVIDED TO REMOVE <br />SMOKE STRATIFICATION. <br />10. PROVIDE BATTERY, CURRENT LOAD AND VOLTAGE DROP CALCULATIONS PER NFPA. <br />11. SEAL AROUND ALL PIPES & CONDUITS IN MASONRY AND DRYWALL WALLS. <br />12. EXTERIOR DEVICES SHALL BE SUBJECT TO ENVIROMENTAL FACTORS INCLUDING BUT <br />NOT LIMITED TO: HUMIDITY, TEMPERATURE AND CORROSIVE ATMOSPHERES <br />(INCLUDING COASTAL SALT AIR). <br />13. ALL FIRE ALARM WIRING SHALL BE MINIMUM # 14 AWG AND IN CONDUIT MIN 3/4" IN <br />EXPOSED CEILING AREAS, PLENUM RATED CABLE IS ACCEPTABLE ABOVE LAY -IN CEILINGS <br />IN J-HOOKS. <br />14. FIRE ALARM CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CHARGES INVOLVED IN <br />OBTAINING APPROVAL AND CERTIFICATION FROM STATE ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR FOR A <br />COMPLETE SYSTEM. CERTIFIED CONTRACTOR TO PAY ALL FEES REQUIRED. <br />1 5. THE RISER DIAGRAM IS FOR REFERENCE PURPOSES. EXACT QUANTITIES OF DEVICES AND <br />LOCATIONS SHALL COMPLY WITH NFPA GUIDELINES AND MEET APPROVAL OF THE <br />STATE ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE LOCATION OF FIRE ALARM DEVICES WITH THE <br />LATEST DOLLAR GENERAL FIXTURE PLAN. <br />19. THE NEW FIRE ALARM SYSTEM SHALL BE INSPECTED AND TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH <br />THEREQUIREMENTS OF NFPA 72, CHAPTER 14, "INSPECTION TESTING AND <br />MAINTENANCE." [72:14.4.1 .1 ]. VERIFICATION OF COMPLIANT INSTALLATIONSHALL BE <br />PERFORMED ACCORDING TO TESTING REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES SPECIFIED IN <br />72:14.4.1 "INITIAL ACCEPTANCE TESTING." SEND A SIGNAL TO THE FIRE ALARM COMPANY WHICH CALLS THE FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />AND THE CUSTOMER PROVIDED CALL LIST. <br />2. LIGHT THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL'S RED LED AND AUDIBLE SONALERT AND <br />DISPLAY A DESCRIPTION OF THE DEVICE CAUSING THE ALARM. <br />3. ALL AUDIBLE ALARM SIGNALS SHALL SOUND UNTIL SILENCED BY THE ALARM SILENCE <br />BUTTON. IF ALARM SIGNALS ARE SILENCED FOR ANY REASON THEY SHALL <br />AUTOMATICALLY RESOUND IF ANOTHER ZONE ACTIVATES. <br />4. ALL SIGNALS SHALL FLASH UNTIL STOPPED BY THE SILENCE BUTTON. IF VISUAL <br />SIGNALS ARE STOPPED FOR ANY REASON THEY SHALL AUTOMATICALLY RESOUND IF <br />ANOTHER ZONE ACTIVATES. <br />5. POWER FAILURE, OPEN CIRCUIT OR OTHER ABNORMAL CONDITIONS IN THE FIRE <br />ALARM CIRCUITS SHALL CAUSE THE TROUBLE SIGNAL TO SOUND AND TH AMBER ZONE <br />TROUBLE LIGHT TO GLOW ON THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL, INDICATING WHICH <br />CIRCUIT IS IN A DIS ARRANGED CONDITION. THE SILENCE BUTTON MAY BE SELECTED <br />TO SILENCE THE AUDIBLE SIGNAL BUT THE TROUBLE LAMP SHALL NOT BE <br />EXTINGUISHED UNTIL THE ABNORMAL CONDITION IS RECTIFIED. <br />6. IN THE EVENT OF A COMMERCIAL POWER INTERRUPTION THE SYSTEM SHALL <br />AUTOMATICALLY TRANSFER TO AN EMERBENCY STANDBY BATTERY SOURCE. <br />7. DUCT SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL AUTOMATICALLY STOP THEIR RESPECTIVE FANS(S) ON <br />DETECTING THE PRESENCE OF SMOKE. <br />8. SPRINKLER SYSTEM FLOW SWITCH AND TAMPER SWITCHES SHALL INDICATE AS A <br />COMMON SUPERVISORY CONDITION AND SHALL TRANSMIT A SUPERVISORY SIGNAL TO <br />THE FIRE ALARM PANEL. <br />FIRE ALARM INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS: <br />POWER LIMITED FIRE ALARM CIRCUITS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH <br />NEC ARTICLE 760. CONDUCTORS SHALL BE EITHER SOLID OR STRANDED COPPER <br />MINIMUM OF #14 AWG. <br />FIRE ALARM CIRCUITS INSTALLED IN CORROSIVE, DAMP OR WET LOCATIONS MUST BE <br />IDENTIFIED FOR USE IN THE OPERATING ENVIRONMENT, MUST BE OF MATERIALS <br />SUITABLE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH THEY ARE INSTALLED, AND MUST BE OF <br />A TYPE SUITABLE FOR THE APPLICATION. <br />COVERS OF BOXES AND CABINETS SHALL BE PAINTED RED AND PERMANENTLY <br />IDENTIFIED AS TO THEIR USE. <br />EXPOSED CABLES SHALL BE SUPPORTED BY THE STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS OF THE <br />BUILDING SO THAT THE CABLE WILL NOT BE DAMAGED BY NORMAL BUILDING USE. <br />EXPOSED CABLES MUST BE SECURED BY STRAPS, STAPLES, CABLE TIES, HANGERS, OR <br />SIMILAR FITTINGS DESIGNED AND INSTALLED TO NOT DAMAGE THE CABLE. POWER <br />LIMITED FIRE ALARM CABLES SHALL NOT BE STRAPPED TO THE EXTERIOR OF ANY <br />RACEWAY AS A MEANS OF SUPPORT. <br />FIRE ALARM CIRCUITS MUST BE IDENTIFIED AT ALL TERMINAL AND JUNCTION BOX <br />LOCATIONS.
