SECTION 0503 LIGHT GAGE FRAMING (CONT.) <br />SECTION 0601 CARPENTRY (CONT.) <br />SECTION 0702 ROOF INSULATION (CONT.) <br />FIV, <br />C. Fasteners: Self Tapping screws, bolts, nuts and <br />washers, hot -dipped galvanized, ASTM <br />A90. <br />2.00 EXECUTION: <br />A. Install vertical studs for canopy face connect studs to steel <br />angles by welding per manufacturer's recommendations. <br />B. Erect studs in one piece, full length. Splicing and wire <br />tying of components are not permitted. <br />C. Provide temporary alignment and bracing until erection is <br />completed. <br />D. Install continous top and bottom track as well as framing <br />between studs for attachment of electrical boxes, mechanical <br />and electrical items. <br />E. Install bracing as required to meet Design Criteria. <br />F. Install studs horizontal to provide framing for soffit as well <br />as toilet room ceiling. <br />SECTION 0601 CARPENTRY <br />1.00 LUMBER AND MATERIALS <br />A. <br />Framing Lumber: <br />1. Specified <br />lumber dimensions are nominal. Actual <br />Dimensions <br />conform to PS 20. <br />2. Surfacing <br />- surface four sides (S4S). <br />3. Species - <br />Any structural grade commercial softwood, <br />maximum moisture <br />content 15%. <br />B. <br />Nailer ® Roof: <br />No. 2 or better <br />C. <br />Blocking: <br />Utility grade or better. <br />D. <br />Fasteners: <br />As required for each application <br />E. <br />Access Platform: 3/4" C-D interior APA plywood with exterior <br />glue <br />F. <br />Wall Plywood <br />1. EIFS CANOPY Exterior on light gauge <br />framing 1/2" C-D exterior-APA plywood. <br />2. INTERIOR WALL as shown on plan Al. <br />1/2' C-D exterior - APA plywood. <br />G. Soffit: Soffit 15 - as manufactured by Weyerhaeuser) <br />2.00 PRESERVATIVE TREATMENT (PT): <br />A. Where preservative treatment lumber and/or plywood is specified' <br />treat in accordance with AWPB Standards as follows: <br />1. AWPB LP-2, above ground application <br />2. Lumber shall be dried to a maximum moisture content of <br />19% <br />B. Use preservative treatment lumber (PT) as follows: <br />1. Plates and nailers in contact with concrete. <br />2. Lumber in contact with exterior or masonry walls. <br />3. Noilers integral with roofing systems and assemblies. <br />3.00 FIRE RETARDING TREATMENT: <br />A. All shall be treated in accordance with AWPA standards <br />C-1-73 and as follows: <br />1. Lumber: C20-14 <br />2. Plywood: C27-14 <br />4.00 INSTALLATION: <br />A. Secure members together using nailing schedule as recommended <br />by the National Forest Products Association. <br />B. Provide temporary bracing until permanent bracing can be <br />applied. <br />C. Install blocking and bridging as required to support toilet <br />accessories, or as indicated on the drawings. <br />D. Install soffit panels level. <br />Panels to be set in "H & J Mold Framing System. <br />SECTION 0701 BUILDING INSULATION <br />1.00. MATERIALS <br />A. Fiberglass batts unfaced 3 1/2' thick with a frame spread <br />rating of 25 or less and a thermal factor of 0.32 at 75 <br />degrees Fahrenheit. <br />B. Vapor Barrier clear 4 mil polyethylene film. <br />C. 18" P.V.C. base flashing at block base. <br />2.00 INSTALLATION <br />A. Install fiberglass butts between metal studs on exterior <br />walls, including arear above the store front. Insure <br />complete and tight fit from floor to underside of roof deck. <br />B. Install vapor barrier over inside of C.M.U. prior to <br />installing metal studs. <br />SECTION 0702 ROOF INSULATION <br />1.00 GENERAL <br />A. Do not apply insulation to wet substrate. <br />B. Keep insulation completely dry before, during and after <br />installation. <br />C. Do not apply hot asphalt material when ambient temperature <br />is 45 degrees F. or below. <br />D. Roof insulation must be compatible with all membrane roofing <br />Manufacturers Recommendations. <br />2.00 MATERIALS <br />A. Bottom layer, isocyanurate foam board, faced roof insulation <br />board made from polyisocyanurate foam. <br />1. Min. R-Value = 19 <br />2. Referenced Standard FS HH-1-1072/GEN, FM4450 & FM4470. <br />3. Acceptable Materials: <br />a. "Hy -Therm AP", 48" x 96" x 2.5", as manufactured <br />by Celotex, R - 19. <br />b. "Fesco-Foam", 48" x 96" 3.0", as manufactured by <br />Manville, R - 20. <br />B. Top layer, perlite board shall be expanded perlite and <br />fibers formed into rigid, rectangular size= 48"x96"xO.5" <br />units. Standard ASTM C728. <br />C. Fasteners shall be screw type with metal cap plates as <br />approved by factory Mutual for U.L 90 classification. <br />3.00 INSTALLATION <br />A. Apply with long joints with full bearing parallel to metal <br />deck flutes, stagger short joints. <br />B. Secure each unit of insulation with at least one (1) <br />fasteners per four sq. ft. located as specifically recommended <br />by the manufacturer and in accordance with Factory Mutual <br />Requirements. <br />C. Do not leave insulation exposed to weather. No more <br />insulation shall be applied than can be completely covered <br />with finished, built-up roofing on the some day. <br />D. Provide 4 inch cant strips where roofing abuts vertical <br />surfaces such as parapet walls and roof curbs. Secure cants <br />with solid hot asphalt mopping. Mop in top layer insulation <br />with asphalt bitumen at a rate of 3 gal/square. Offset top <br />layer joints at least 6 inches from bottom layer. Walk in <br />boards to obtain maximum adhesive contact. Seal all <br />penetrations and joints of insulation to prevent asphalt <br />dripping. <br />4.00 PROTECTION <br />A. Remove excess materials, trash, debris, equipment and parts <br />from the work. <br />B. Repair, or remove and replace, damages and stains caused by <br />roofing work. <br />SECTION 0703 BUILT-UP ROOFING <br />1.00 GENERAL <br />A. ROOFING SYSTEM: Four (4) ply fiberglass, smooth surface <br />with top coat and aluminized coating. <br />B. REQUIREMENTS: <br />1. Roofing applicator shall be approved by the manufacturer <br />of roofing systems and provide letter stating some. <br />2. Store roll goods on edge on a hard, smooth surface. <br />3. Do not apply roofing when substrate is wet. <br />4. Keep roll goods at 40 degrees F. and above. <br />5. Do not apply roofing when ambient temperature is below <br />45 degrees F. <br />C. GUARANTEE: <br />1. Before final payment, Contractor shall furnish to Owner <br />a written guarantee of products and workmanship provided <br />in the roofing system. <br />2. Coverage, period of coverage, roof membrane provider's <br />and Owner's responsibilities, excluded items, and <br />provisions for assignment shall be as stated in the <br />roofing system guaranty, but in no case shall coverage <br />be less than that provided in the OCF Permo Ply Roofing <br />Felt Limited Product Guaranty. <br />3. Term of guaranty, which includes both the roof membrane <br />and base flashing shall be for 5 years. <br />a. Limit of Liability: unlimited <br />D. ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS: <br />1.
