Formwork not supporting the weight of concrete may be <br />removed after 24 hrs. <br />g. Place concrete in forms in horizontal layers not <br />exceeding 18" in depth so as to avoid inclined joints. <br />h. Wet all forms prior to placing concrete. <br />i. Provide moisture barrier over prepared base where <br />indicated. <br />j. Roughen all existing dried concrete surfaces and coat <br />with bonding agent prior to placing wet concrete against <br />the dry surface. <br />k. Concrete shall not free fall more than two feet into <br />forms. <br /> <br />9. FINISHES AND TOLERANCES: <br /> <br />Unless otherwise indicated: <br /> <br />a. Trowel finish all interior slab areas. <br />b. Patch all formed surfaces not exposed to view. <br />c. Patch and rub all formed surfaces exposed to view. <br />d. Broom finish all exterior slab surfaces. <br />e. Check ~nd level slab surfaces to a tolerance of 3/16" in <br />10' when checked with a 10' straightedge. Where <br />tolerances to levelness and waviness are more stringent <br />due to equipment requirements, those tolerances will <br />control. Levelness shall be interpreted as flatness on <br />sloped slabs. <br /> <br />MASONRY <br /> <br />1. STANDARDS: <br /> <br />All masonry work shall comply with the latest edition of the <br />following: <br /> <br />a. ACI 530, "Buildinq Code Requirements for Masonry <br />Structures" <br />b. ACI 530.1, "Specifications for Masonry Structures". <br />c. NCMA, "Manual of Facts on Concrete Masonry" <br />d. The local governing building code if more stringent than <br />the above. <br /> <br />2. MATERIALS: <br /> <br />a. Concrete Masonry Units: 8"X8"X16" (uno), ASTM C 90, Grade <br />N, Type 1, using normal weight concrete> <br />b. Mortar: Type M, ASTM C 270, 2500 psi for a 2 inch cube @ <br />28 days. <br />1. Portland Cement: ASTM C 150, Type 1 <br />2. Masonry Cement: ASTM C-91 <br />3. Hydrated Lime: ASTM C 207, Type S <br />4. Aggregate: ASTM C 144 <br />
