Notification Appliance Circuit Supervision Module
Specifications

D192C

Features

. Supervises 12 or 24 V DC Notification Appliance
Circuits

. Supervised signal silencing switch
. Notification appliance circuit rated at 1.8 Amps
. Multiple module configurations
. Mounts in panel enclosure

Description

The D192C Circuit Supervision Module is an accessory
module for use with Radionics Fire Alarm Control
Panels (FACPs) and Controll Communicators. The
D192C supervises the wiring to remote Notification
Appliances in compliance with UL 864 and NFPA 72.

The D192C powers Notification Appliances either from
an FACP or from an auxiliary power supply, which
allows the use of 12 or 24 V DC Notification Appliances
with the appropriate power supply.

The D192C supervises the wiring to Notification
Appliances for open circuit, short circuit, or grounded
circuit faults. It responds to these conditions by causing
a shorted trouble condition on the FACP supervisory
zone or point. The panel then provides audible and
visual waming at the command center(s). Panel
programming may provide Notification Appliance
supervision reports to a remote receiver.

In an alarm condition the panel output voltage triggers
the D192C to supply power to the Notification
Appliances.

The D192C module also filters and stabilizes the output
voltage to the Notification Appliances in the event the
battery power is interrupted. Several D192C modules
can be connected to the same supervisory zone or point
of the FACP or control/communicator.

The D192C module has a silence switch to disconnect
power to the Notification Appliances during system
testing. When this toggle switch is in the Silence (OFF)
position, the D192C shorts the supervisory zone or point
of the panel, causing a trouble condition.

Notification Appliances used with the D192C module
must comply with the following:

. Must be polarized (DC) equipment

. Must match the voltage rating of the alarm power
supply

. Must not exceed the current rating of the alarm
power supply

. Combined device current must not exceed 1.8
Amps per D192C module

Application
The D192C Module provides a supervised connection
point between a Notification Appliance circuit and the
FACP. It supervises the Notification Appliance circuit
for open, short, and ground condition, any of which the
F ACP will report as a trouble condition.

In an alarm situation, the FACP signals the D192C to
power the Notification Appliance circuit, either from the
F ACP battery or from an auxiliary power supply.

I.. mem:Jer of the
30sch Gr~u:J

$ radlonics
